I had a 3 finger gripper that I gave up on a few days ago. I decided not to
enter if that idea didn't pan out.

Tonight, Janey said that I had no choice but to build a bot. with her
encouragement, I came up with plan 3.14. v2

At this time, I have a prototype, that is powered by ONE motor, and can put a
goodly sized can ONTO a brick base.

What this means for Dave.

Dave, you will LOSE. you dont even have a bot. I will win (again) and the
monthly mocking will continue.  cause as it stands Im still the last bot
standing champion.

Swing to that buck-o

Sigh its lonely here at the top of the rtl bot builder winners circle.

Regards
Chris

Unrelated to carpeting; but is anyone else having a heckuva time coming up with
a design/strategy for this?!  I've got about 4 giant sheets of paper full of
sketches, but nothing concrete.  This is proving to be far more challenging than
I thought!  There are so many ways to go with this, based on different
assumptions.

(...) Oh, darn. :) I guess I can share now that one of my ideas was to measure the resistance to forward motion of different cans (ie, friction) using an arrangement with a rotation sensor and the wheels on the robot. This would allow me to figure (...) (16 years ago, 6-Jan-09, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
