Re: Proposed Assembly Line Project —Calum Tsang
(...) There's a lot of prework for organizing: The carrier and the assembly pallet at minimum. Then deciding the building sequence. Thankfully the building sequence is pretty top to bottom. One item (the minifigure) needs to assembled before his (...) (18 years ago, 18-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, FTX)

(...) Waitwaitwait, did they build you at the Honda factory? :) I don't think we should worry about the minifig (but that's moot). (...) Not a dumb question at all - to be honest I hadn't thought about it. Once the "press down" starts happening I (...) (18 years ago, 18-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, FTX)

[And those dang Yankees just won't got back south of the border where they belong...] I like the idea of using the touch sensor, however it raise another question (that, not being at a meeting, I don't have an answer to). I want to fool around with 2 touch sensors face to face. but I dont see why a light beam wouldnt work? Chris (18 years ago, 20-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) Yupyup, here ya go! (URL) Here are all the parts you need to make one shuttle base. (URL) One assembled base, less RCX.          Re: Proposed Assembly Line Project —Rob Antonishen
(...) So what holds the grey and yellow "bumpers" on? Do they just hook on the motor hooks or are they actually attached somehow? -Rob A> (18 years ago, 19-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Proposed Assembly Line Project —Iain Hendry
(...) There are small plastic clips at the base of the train motor; these clasp under the 1x3 inverted slopes to lock them in place (quite ridgidly, I might add). You can see them in the photo; once the RCX dark grey base is loaded on top, it ties (...) (18 years ago, 19-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, FTX)

Re: Proposed Assembly Line Project —Rob Antonishen
(...) That's what I figured. Not having any of these motors, I cobbled it in LDRAW, and the clips in the model are too low. I figure I'll just make a dolly the same size from bricks and the old train wheels (with the metal axle from the 4.5V days) (...) (18 years ago, 19-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Oh yeah - note the Akermann steering, I was quite happy with that. Can pull a turning circle with a radius (centreline) 12 cm no problem :) -Iain (18 years ago, 5-Feb-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, FTX)

Re: Proposed Assembly Line Project —Calum Tsang
(...) Whoooohooo! That's me! I've been to Morgantown, West Virginia! (...) Okay, there's something off the bat I'm worried about, which is that you've built the track out of unobtanium, aka, monorail track. No one has any of it and it's more (...)          Re: Proposed Assembly Line Project —Iain Hendry
(...) Hahaha :) The advantages of using the monorail track are that it's very, very rigid laterally (like, it can really press into it without it deflecting at all) and simple to construct. It's a wide, flat surface... the 4.5 V rails I fear will (...) (18 years ago, 5-Feb-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, FTX)

[pardon the uninvited Yank, but I love the idea and have been lurking. And I'm hard to actually shut up, just ask Steve] (...)         Re: Proposed Assembly Line Project —Rob Antonishen
