Official scores from rtl21--Chris didn't win... again!!!! —David Koudys
What's it like to lose all the time, Chris? You beat me? You beat a 'bot that was made basically the day of the competition?? Eh--here's the breakdown-- 13 competitors--78 match-ups... tied for first place--Edward and John G--they both won 11 of (...) (18 years ago, 31-Jul-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) While agree the re-running some competitions is a great idea (I know there are a few I'd like to try that I didn't the first time :) I predict rerunning this tug-of war event would end up as follows: All robots would: 1) be exactly 1.5 lbs. 2) (...) If one was to nit-pick, one could argue the placings where: First John G and Edward Third Vitali Fourth Ka-On Fifth Rob A Sixth Calum Seventh Trevyn and Chris Ninth Derek and Dave K Eleventh John/Ian Twelfth Tomer and Glen But this means I (...)         Re: Official scores from rtl21--Chris didn't win... again!!!! —Chris Magno
(...) I PROTEST!!!!! if this was a real game organized by competent people, then the following would have happened. John G - Disqualified for re-building his bot once he saw that other bots had a strategy to defeat his bot. Ed- Disqualified for (...) (18 years ago, 1-Aug-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) I see where this logic goes wrong... I assume you're suggesting Calum should do more of the work. (18 years ago, 1-Aug-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Official scores from rtl21--Chris didn't win... again!!!! —Rob Antonishen
(...) I PROTEST EVEN MORE!!!!! If this was a real game run by competent people, then the following would have happened: Chris - Disqualified for an over weight robot cause he used an inaccurate scale to weight his bot, and used that as an excuse to (...)       (...) One of these days we got to get us one of them there "competent" organizers. THEN, i could sit back and build, and not worry. some day.(1) Chris How far away is indiana? (18 years ago, 2-Aug-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) Except in your run down of all the competitors, I didn't get disqualified and I beat you... Don't make me pull out some charts and graphs.... (...) Oh...now you've done it. (...)         rtl21 B —Steve Hassenplug
(...) Dave, Here's your chance to take another shot at the Tug-o-War. The rules are not exactly the same, but you should be able to take some of the things you learned, and apply them at BrickFest. (URL) rtl robot was built the day of the event, (...)         Re: rtl21 B —Chris Magno
(...) If I know Dave, he will start now, and build a 14lb bot, then have to spend the entire brickfest re-making it. Besides, Steve, now that everyone will be using the inside out tyre(Tm)(Pat Pending) (C) (1) idea that I came up with, how much fun (...) (18 years ago, 2-Aug-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

         Re: rtl21 B —Steve Hassenplug
(...) I know. Those look like they'd work much better than anything else I've seen. There must have been some other design flaw that caused you to lose so bad. Steve (18 years ago, 2-Aug-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

         Re: rtl21 B —Chris Magno
(...) Seriously, I think the tires were too sticky. When the bot met with something "immovable" (like an anchor bot) then the bot would STOP. I really dont recall, but I think, none of my loss's were do to actually being PULLED. (I expect to be (...) (18 years ago, 3-Aug-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

         Re: rtl21 B —Rob Antonishen
(...) Then you should have geared them down more. If it was possible to stall the motors, and the tires weren't slipping then your speed would have been reduced more, increasing your torque until you got to a point just before they would slip. -Rob (...)          Re: rtl21 B —Chris Magno
(...) hummm, i dont think i follow this logic. I wanted the speed to try to get to the end of the table as fast a possiable. I had the torque, with the worm to 24, and it was driven with the slower port of the RC motor. OFF TOPIC!!! (calum dont read (...) (18 years ago, 3-Aug-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

         Re: rtl21 B —Derek Raycraft
(...) Yes but his design relied on speed as well. So what he really needed is a dual drive system that allowed a high torque motor to come into play when the high speed motor was stalled. I built one of these for my king of the hill robot which (...) (18 years ago, 3-Aug-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

        Re: rtl21 B —Steve Hassenplug
(...) Yes. It should make it a very simple game. No fancy strategies. It does take a bit of fun out of it for some of us, but hopefully it will give some new people a chance to play. (...) The center line. Steve (18 years ago, 2-Aug-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
