Re: R21 - Tug of war ?? —Brian Davis
(...) My idea was to have teams of 3 or so robots, one of which could be an "anchor" robot (be allowed a firm connection of some type to the edge of the the table). But I admit, I only really liked this because of the possibility of one team (...) (19 years ago, 20-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: R21 - Tug of war ?? —Calum Tsang
(...) Wow, it's like I logged into lugnet.org.us.somegu...inindiana* :) I'm not really sure where we are on this one, other than we know we're starting a contest up here. As for unifying a ruleset for Brickfest, I'm not really that crazy about it, (...) (19 years ago, 20-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: R21 - Tug of war ?? —Steve Hassenplug
(...) Why not? It seems like it would make all of the events more popular. Do you think it would take anything away from any of the events? (...) We've just been throwing around ideas for BrickFest events. The rules Dave posted actually sound pretty (...) (19 years ago, 20-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: R21 - Tug of war ?? —Chris Magno
(...) Steve, rtl will be doing this style of tug of war. we probably will not place a "weight limit" with the understanding that weight is not always better. besides we have the all encompassing "spirit of the game" rule. The current draft rule set (...) (19 years ago, 22-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Tug of war ?? —Steve Hassenplug
Chris and Calum, You guys have done a fine job of creating and running events for your group, but you've both made it clear that rtl is not interested in contributing or participating with the Mindstorms community outside your little group. And (...) (19 years ago, 22-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Tug of war ?? —Calum Tsang
(...) Oh Steve, why do you have to drag us into this? Is it your selfordained role as "The Fresh New Face of Lego Mindstorms" that requires you to gush prolific on "building community"? Lego, despite attempts to make it otherwise, is not a virtual (...) (19 years ago, 22-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Tug of war ?? —Steve Hassenplug

(...) Steve, I read this, and I'm sad to say it really rubbed me the wrong way. Steve, you and I go way back, heck YOU took the time to teach me bit masking; and for that I thank you. But the over all tone of your public text makes me feel like a (...) (19 years ago, 23-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) Chris, Calum, David, James, Rob, rtl people, anyone else reading. I'm sorry I posted this. I apologize. I had some things I wanted to say, and I did a poor job of saying them.         Re: Tug of war ?? —James Powell
(...) I feel this statement is a insult to RTL, and to the wider lego community. I really do. I have not ever taken part in a RTL event, but I have had some discussions with RTL members, I know RTL _is_ involved in "the wider community", beyond just (...)
