    No one asked... —Calum Tsang
But I came up with a few sketches for this new rtlToronto6.5 Layout... (URL) (20 years ago, 25-Nov-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: No one asked... —Derek Raycraft
Cool. But where's the gutter train! I like the guy chilling in the center. Derek (...) (20 years ago, 25-Nov-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: No one asked... —Calum Tsang
(...) Unfortunately I drew these up on Sunday night, so the idea of the gutter train going around to the new area (which I really like, since I love that little gutter train) hadn't appeared yet. I hesitated to post it until Dave and Janey had a (...) (20 years ago, 25-Nov-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: No one asked... —David Koudys
(...) Having had to clear the snow/ice off my windshield this morning, and whilst shivering in the cold, I was reminded that perhaps now would be a good time to find my scarf. Ahhh, my scarf. I love my little scarf--it's so warm and fuzzy and keeps (...) (20 years ago, 25-Nov-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: No one asked... —David Koudys
(...) I really like this idea. Since the guttter train currently doesn't cross over any track at this time, but with the new 'Derek Plan' it will, is there enough clearance between the gutter track and the train track? Just wondering. (...) (20 years ago, 25-Nov-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: No one asked... —Derek Raycraft
(...) No. There isn't. I had two thoughts on this point. If we are running the large layout we don't use the section of track the gutter train crosses so it doesn't matter. Or I could build some sort of lift bridge for the gutter train. There is an (...) (20 years ago, 25-Nov-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: No one asked... —Calum Tsang
(...) Well, the Racers track is eight dots wide...and the train track clearance between is eight dots. Which would be fine if the Racers track was on the ground, but it's at like 8 bricks high or something, which might make it conflict with actual (...)         Re: No one asked... —Derek Raycraft
(...) Ramp pieces are a no go, they are way too steep. My thought was the racer track would drop to track level. This could be done reasonably quickly, but this could pose a logistical problem. If the track in this raised to one brick height, like (...) (20 years ago, 25-Nov-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: No one asked... —Calum Tsang
(...) But if you can't use ramps, how will you lower from the height of the City Station ring down to the Janey Run? Calum (20 years ago, 25-Nov-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: No one asked... —Derek Raycraft
(...) How would you do it with train track? It can most likely be steeper then you can make a ramp with train track. I'm still trying to figure out how to solve the width, interference problem. Might have to give up on the racer track and build a (...) (20 years ago, 26-Nov-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: No one asked... —Calum Tsang
(...) Didn't think of that...right! (...) I don't honestly think it's a big deal. It's not the clearance of the track, it's the clearance of the gutter train itself, because the gutter is low enough. I don't think apart from DaveK's SD70ACe (which (...)          Re: No one asked... —Larry Pieniazek
(...) LUGNET admins have heard periodic reports of this, but Todd has not yet found the issue. If you would be willing to help try to debug this, please contact Todd (or me if you're not sure how to contact Todd) with details of your setup.         Re: No one asked... —David Koudys
(...) As well, the actual tram isn't designed to go up ramps. Eh, we might have to forego this idea. I just had another thought--if we're serious about this extension, we should start trying to figure out how all this is going to tie into NMRA. Just (...)          Re: No one asked... —Calum Tsang
(...) Well, that's an issue. We haven't asked for more than 15x15 from NMRA, have we? And bringing all this stuff down will be a killer. We still don't have a clear plan as how to bring the corner down. Calum (20 years ago, 25-Nov-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: No one asked... —C. L. GunningCook
(...) If we are using that png.file, (assuming alpha across the top, and lettering down the side) can all the issues not be solved by the rise starting at the bottom of M-11 running up 4 bricks per plate (2 for each house) levelling out at plate (...)      (...) I give up, in the time I took to post that, Derek addressed the ramp issue, and Dave sent the elevation, which is pretty close to my plan anyway, so just forget the prior post.
