No, we need to beat the horse.  Beating the horse is part of the process, the
discourse is required.  Your comments are appreciated.

having a -1 for wrong blocks and +1 for right blocks should (in average) result
in a value of zero for people who don't sort.  So, there is no color bonus for
blocks AT HOME, unless they are sorted.

So, scenarios with the posted ruleset for home are:

Pile of unstacked bricks in home:  No points.
Tower of multicolour bricks at home:  +1 for every brick (location), +1 for
every brick of correct colour.

I should clarify that no points are given for a single block of correct colour
in the starting square.

So, people are required to stack?

The scoring does put emphasis on stacking.  But, if you just want to sort them,
and push them to your home square (unstacked) you get more points for sorting
better.  (that's a good entry level challenge)

Yeah, that's the consensus I read from Dave and Derek.  The question is stacking
so hard that pushing bricks needs to be there at the entry level?  My fear isn't
competitiveness of an entry to a advanced player, but the jump in the building
challenge.

Greg, do you think you can build a block stacker?

Also, is 30 blocks enough?  Is that 15 black & 15 white?

The rulepage says 30 of each, right?  Total 60.

Calum

(...) Maybe one should start by asking all the people who have entered past block-stacking events... Then, ask Dave if grabbing a 2x2x2 cube is harder than a 4x4x4 cube (used in past events) From my experience, I'd say block stacking is NOT an easy (...)
