So, scenarios with the posted ruleset for home are:
Pile of unstacked bricks in home: No points.
Tower of multicolour bricks at home: +1 for every brick (location), +1 for
every brick of correct colour.

Yeah, that's the consensus I read from Dave and Derek. The question is stacking
so hard that pushing bricks needs to be there at the entry level? My fear isn't
competitiveness of an entry to a advanced player, but the jump in the building
challenge.
Greg, do you think you can build a block stacker?

Then, ask Dave if grabbing a 2x2x2 cube is harder than a 4x4x4 cube (used in past events) From my experience, I'd say block stacking is NOT an easy (...) (20 years ago, 28-Oct-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
