    Re: Logic Only —Michael Purvis
(...) Darn it. I was able to test it with 'send only', using IR tower messages from brixcc, but as you say, I don't have any way of checking the outgoing messages. (And it's super-clunky to get even the remote working, since brixcc insists on (...) (21 years ago, 9-Feb-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Logic Only - Early results (the polls are still open) —Steve Hassenplug
(...) The other choice is to explain it better. I chose not to do that. :) For those who are curious, I have some early results for the Code-only Connect Four game. At rtl15, I played Derek two games (each of us went first, once) and I won both. (...) (21 years ago, 9-Feb-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Logic Only - Early results (the polls are still open) —Kevin L. Clague
(...) Steve the fastest way to get to new game is to lose as quickly as you can in the current game. I can add something so that pressing VIEW restarts the game if you would like. (...) Who one the first game? (...) (21 years ago, 9-Feb-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Logic Only - Early results (the polls are still open) —Steve Hassenplug
(...) My software's not set-up to do that. :) At one point, your software seemed to be taking a long time to move, and it seemed to stop beeping, after it was out of the opening book, so I couldn't tell if it was actually making moves (or even if it (...)           Re: Logic Only - Early results (the polls are still open) —Kevin L. Clague
(...) The book generator figures out the best moves for skill level 10 down through 5 for the first turn. It then takes the list of best moves from first turn, and calculates the best responses for skill level 10 down through 5 for the second (...) Steve, I can not help but notice that you fail to ANSWER THE BASIC QUESTION!!!!! when your software played Kevin's which code won? try to be as explicit as you can so that it will look good in my sig file. :) Chris "I stole an opening book (...)          Re: Logic Only - Early results (the polls are still open) —Steve Hassenplug
(...) To make a short story, long... I'm willing to bet Kevin's code will win the second game. That's actually kind of a risky bet, seeing he DIDN'T win the first game. Turns out, if Chris had been able to build a working robot, he may have tied (...) (21 years ago, 9-Feb-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Logic Only - Early results (the polls are still open) —Chris Magno
(...) you had to run this through a small army of friends and lawyers, so that I would have a hard time putting it in my sig file. Chris There's no 'I' in 'team'. There's four in 'platitude-quoting idiot'. (21 years ago, 9-Feb-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) Yes, it is a bit risky. Congratulations on the first win. My code is not tested very much, sooooo..... Good luck on the second. Was it a long game or did I die early?         Re: Logic Only - Early results (the polls are still open) —Steve Hassenplug
