I think, though, the rope climbing is a Good Thing(tm).

Just so I get more excercise, I'd say that the 4x4 arena should be there, that
the 'bots start in the black/white squares, and two ropes are dangling within
the perimeter of the arena, one rope with a black end, one rope with a white
one--the 'bots must find the rope corresponding to the starting colour

That's just me adding some complexity. :)

(...) Or, two robots, one rope, first to the top wins. Talk about the possibilities for an "elimination" style competition - perhaps the rope should dangle over a bunch of pillows, or a deep box of styrofoam peanuts... (20 years ago, 4-Feb-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
