  Re: Shhhh! I'm building....

(...) ...me too!! :) my order from shop@home arrived with a Sante Fe kit (K10022) and 2 extra 10022. I built the engine (A-unit), the 2 10025's (a luggage car and a RPO), and 5 10022's (2 diner cars, 2 passenger sleeper cars, and observation car). I (...)   Re: I know Kung Fu!

(...) Nice Work. I hope you enjoy the RIS 2.0. (I still don't have one yet. I DO have a couple 1.0's and a 1.5). (...) I seen it last Saturday. I thought it was very cool. Interesting plot development, but was a bit disapointed in some of the (...) (21 years ago, 22-May-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Should I upgrade to RIS 2.0?

So the 1.5 Mindstorm PC based programming software (does it have a real name, to minimize confusion?) that uses the drag and drop based GUI should work fine with the 2.0 firmware. It just won't provide access to those features. Second dumb newbie (...) (21 years ago, 22-May-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Should I upgrade to RIS 2.0?

(...) I guess i never point out that upgrading firmware only ADD's functionality. the standard firmware wont let you play with the LCD display (i think) but as firmware gets upgraded, functionality expands. I see no negative reason why NOT to (...) (21 years ago, 22-May-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Should I upgrade to RIS 2.0?

Still haven't opened my RIS 1.5 (hey, I'm planning a move so I'm kinda busy right now...why else would I be posting at midnight?) big question...should I stick with the 1.5 firmware and RIS software (to start and for my 8 year old kid) or should I (...)   I know Kung Fu!

err, I mean: "I know NQC"... NQC for RCX2 firmware that is. I opened my first RIS set on sunday night, built the rover and played with some simple touch sensor stuff. I did all the challenges for the rover on monday, at this point I basically knew (...) (21 years ago, 21-May-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Shhhh! I'm building!

Hey Calum, Some of us (NB!) helped Jeff VW sort part of his new collection over the weekend. Many bricks. I'm somewhat jealous, but I managed to pocket most of the good stuff :) ("The doors! So, I'm sitting here in London wondering, what are the guys up to? And lo and behold, I check and you're all quiet. Is this a new form of Calum ball? WinME baiting not working? :) Anyways, I'm aiming for Paris on Thursday and Friday, Munich (and (...) (21 years ago, 19-May-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Looking for OS suggestions

(...) Uh, yeah. Windows ME is probably the worst OS you could possibly load on a PC. All the instability of Windows 9x with extra GUI CPU load. If you have a PC that can run an NT kernal based OS (ie, NT4, 2000, XP) then great. Use that, because (...) (21 years ago, 16-May-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
