Still haven't opened my RIS 1.5 (hey, I'm planning a move so I'm kinda
busy right now...why else would I be posting at midnight?)
big question...should I stick with the 1.5 firmware and RIS software (to
start and for my 8 year old kid) or should I jump right to the 2.0
firmware and obtain (sources?) the 2.0 RIS upgrade?
Suggestions?

I guess i never point out that upgrading firmware only ADD's functionality. the standard firmware wont let you play with the LCD display (i think) but as firmware gets upgraded, functionality expands. I see no negative reason why NOT to (...) (22 years ago, 22-May-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
