Re: So how many pieces do you have anyway?

I've got a little over 13,700 pieces. Of those, 555 are technic pins with friction. Funny, it doesn't seem like that many :-) (21 years ago, 5-May-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) That's where I'd like to know. I still not sure if I can go. I might have to work. I just got back from NY State (Buffalo) on another 2 week (work) vacation courtesy of (U)ncle (S)am, or I'd post sooner. I just want to say that if it is in the (...)   OMG! Death is X! X is Sledgehammer! death !=sledgehammer!

Hey folks, Calum here with Iain. Today both of us had the honour of being the first two people ever on the brand new Huss Jump2 amusement ride here at sunny Paramount's Canada's Wonderland (PCWo). Yes, that's right-Iain was the first, I was the (...) (21 years ago, 4-May-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

So how many pieces do you have anyway?

This is a question I've been asked, and I'm sure the rest of you have been asked many times. Until now I've had no idea how to answer it realistically. Estimates by myself and others have run from 100,000 to 250,000 pieces and sometimes more. But (...) (21 years ago, 4-May-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: RCX Train Sensor

(...) <snip> Hi Jeff, I'm not sure if you want to keep it a "100% lego" solution, but if not I think a reedcontact for magnetic detection might be simpler (and a lot smaller!). Like all research papers, if you're not in that field, it's highly unlikely one can understand it, primarily because you need to know the supporting research and other papers that preceeded it by other authors. Iain, I think I understand where you might get confused: lets start with a simple example: Using (u×)3 = – u× , we obtain the modern expression of the Olinde-Rodrigues formula: exp(æ u×) = 1 + sin æ u× + (1 – cos æ) (u×)2, exp(æ u×) (NM) = (...)
