Re: BULK buys of 9756 available - 17 CAD$ per unit, minimum 20 units

Oh I'd be interested in coming down for sure, but with 2 kids (2 years and 4 years) free time is hard to come by, I'v been trying to come down/watching dates for about a year, and have yet to be able to hit an event. And I have way more than 20 if (...) (22 years ago, 15-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Programming help tomorrow

<supress competitive sarcasm> Hi guys, I was wondering if I could get some help for a friend of mine. I know we usually have a "bring your own laptop" policy, but he doesn't have access to one, and his robot isn't programmed yet. He also has no RCX (...)   Re: I'm going to sleep well tonight...

Chris, as usual, I'm sure your robot will be 'interesting', but, a winner…surely you jest. Count yourself lucky that we don’t have qualifying rounds! Dave, what’s the deal? We come up with a contest that’s not one you can just tweak that run-a-mucky (...) (22 years ago, 15-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: I'm going to sleep well tonight...

YEP... I'm going to win this. looks like it'll be Bruce, Calum, and Jeff E's meri-go-round bot. maybe Steve H will show UP.. but i wont count on it till I see his robot. Yep, if Calum is my competition then I've got this all wrapped.... I'm sure (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: I'm going to sleep well tonight...

I'm screwed. After hours of building: "Oh, the thing can't turn! it's too heavy! Joy!" And I have yet to start programming. Maybe I'll be showing up with another non-functioning 'bot. -Greg (sweetly retarded cousin) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: I'm going to sleep well tonight...

(...) Simple and elegant? 7 tasks? 3 watchers? The only complexity in my bot is that you have to make sure you wind up the capacitor *right before* the match starts, or the Merry go Round will stop before 3 minutes are up. Because when Chris sees (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: I'm going to sleep well tonight...

(...) HA!! I know why you don't have a ROBOT, cause you cant do it! I WIN!!!! HEY WORLD!!! I once again BEAT out DAVE in a robot game. Hey, DAVE. your robots don't exist!!!! (sure it don't have the same ring to it.. but its all i can figure out) so (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

I'm going to sleep well tonight...

*yawn* *scratch* Yeah, I think I'll go to bed after Letterman and just sleep the sleep of a very content and unpressured person. Dream of all the wonderful 'bots I have made, that performed smoothly and wonderfully... And basically sit out on this (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

...I almost peed! (Or: VIDEO of the most amazing thing ever)

So I went with 3 of my coworkers to Assembly Canada, an automation show at the International Centre that was on today and yesterday, in Toronto. I spent almost 2 hours at Stelron's booth. I just stood there. In shock. In awe. In absolute amazement. (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) I could go for another 4--if other people want to pipe up and claim 16 more, I'll buy all 20 and bring them around to dinners and events... Dave K (22 years ago, 13-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) Thanks for offering them to us, but you'd probably get a better response if you brought them down and sold them at a dinner or rtlToronto event. Perhaps someone in the group wants to organize the buy if Michael isn't interested in selling (...) (22 years ago, 13-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

I figured I should post this for the local community to get a crack at these before my stock is all gone. These are brand new/in bags, ready to ship, local shipping is super cheap as well, figured at your next meeting someone could distribute them (...)   Re: the colour of LOR

(...) hmm. Actually, I usually go for both. I build a couple good robots, so I can get first AND second. Well, not this time. My number 2 bot may actually lose to Chris' robot. But that's because it only weighs 13oz, and is controlled by a battery (...) (22 years ago, 13-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Merry-go-Round

No, no pics, but I've got a little LDraw render of the crankshaft assembly at the bottom of the page, now. It's pretty straightforward: The 2x2 round plate locks the 4-long vertical axle in place, and the crown gear stays fixed with respect to the (...)
