I'm going to sleep well tonight...

*yawn* *scratch* Yeah, I think I'll go to bed after Letterman and just sleep the sleep of a very content and unpressured person. Dream of all the wonderful 'bots I have made, that performed smoothly and wonderfully... And basically sit out on this (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

...I almost peed! (Or: VIDEO of the most amazing thing ever)

So I went with 3 of my coworkers to Assembly Canada, an automation show at the International Centre that was on today and yesterday, in Toronto. I spent almost 2 hours at Stelron's booth. I just stood there. In shock. In awe. In absolute amazement. (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: BULK buys of 9756 available - 17 CAD$ per unit, minimum 20 units

(...) I could go for another 4--if other people want to pipe up and claim 16 more, I'll buy all 20 and bring them around to dinners and events... Dave K (22 years ago, 13-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: BULK buys of 9756 available - 17 CAD$ per unit, minimum 20 units

(...) Thanks for offering them to us, but you'd probably get a better response if you brought them down and sold them at a dinner or rtlToronto event. Perhaps someone in the group wants to organize the buy if Michael isn't interested in selling (...) (22 years ago, 13-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

BULK buys of 9756 available - 17 CAD$ per unit, minimum 20 units

I figured I should post this for the local community to get a crack at these before my stock is all gone. These are brand new/in bags, ready to ship, local shipping is super cheap as well, figured at your next meeting someone could distribute them (...)   Re: the colour of LOR

(...) hmm. Actually, I usually go for both. I build a couple good robots, so I can get first AND second. Well, not this time. My number 2 bot may actually lose to Chris' robot. But that's because it only weighs 13oz, and is controlled by a battery (...) (22 years ago, 13-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Merry-go-Round

No, no pics, but I've got a little LDraw render of the crankshaft assembly at the bottom of the page, now. It's pretty straightforward: The 2x2 round plate locks the 4-long vertical axle in place, and the crown gear stays fixed with respect to the (...)   Re: the colour of LOR

I say quality is better than quantity.... Sure you may have entered a 'bot in every (...) (22 years ago, 13-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: the colour of LOR

(...) Duh! How else will you turn them off at night or when it's cloudy? Dave! (not the "Dave" you addressed, but I'm sure I'm just as groovy) (22 years ago, 13-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Merry-go-Round

(...) Man, that rocks! I love the way you've detailed it--the typical carnie lights and colours on the top, the warning patterns on the floor. And I'm not even a fan of amusement parks in train layouts, either. Calum (22 years ago, 12-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: I broke my leg...

(...) Oh my... Your story is much more gruesome than mine. Thankfully my break is pretty clean, so no surgery or power tools were required. Sometime the similarities between surgeons and construction workers are striking. (...) Well, I fell down my (...) (22 years ago, 12-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Merry-go-Round

As promised, a few pics: (URL) really have to see it in action. Perhaps I'll put it on top of my robot so people will have something to watch as Chris' bot struggles to climb the hill. :D Jeff E (22 years ago, 12-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) I have a solution for you: Duct tape. And yellow stripey caution tape. (or better, police tape!) Just get some chairs, duct tape them to the floor, and attach caution tape to them (also using duct tape!). Chris, I can't imagine that you dont (...) (...) Now we have some good rtlToronto taunting going on... K, I'll start tonite--won't guarantee anything but judging by my record (always riding on my laurels am I ;) ), I'll probably show up with something that'll do the job, do it well, and kick (...)
