  Re: rtl11 Ideas, Part 4

(...) 'specially if Daveism's show up! (...) To clarify soccer rules--the 'bot can't pick up the ball, but can it contain it? As long as the ball rolls along the ground, but no other 'bot can get to the ball, is that legal? just wonderin' for (...) (23 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  rtl11 Ideas, Part 4

Smore ideas: -Rope Climbers - Vertical (ie, pairs of ropes, to race up to the ceiling and back down) -Rope Racers - Horizontal (same thing but from one side of the room to another) -Hardcore Soccer (ie, but I think by the April event, it Soccer will (...)   interesting reads

I was "reviewing" my e-mail account, particularly my "lego friends" folder. I was amazed at how many rtl e-mails I have. I have several each from Calum (discussing shirt - around Train2), Chris (discussing Tank Ordinances (and delivery to him) - (...) (23 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) Just to make y'all squirm, I paid $23 for my first Pizza to Go. I paid $8 for my second (bless Venture!). Sigh. (...) Now THAT is interesting. I never noticed that! (...) I like the word procurement. It sounds official, sort of like moving (...) (23 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Yeah...those evil "lurkers"... next time they should bring some technic... :) (1) Warning....talking about trains and town.... <loud gasp from the Robot-loving rtlToronto Community> Congrats, Dave.   I am an idiot

There's a reason why I'm dangerous with Solaris, and that's because I'm too used to Windows NT. Today I was doing a df -k on Peachy and noticed my data disk was at 99-100% capacity. Knowing that filesystems don't perform well over 40% capacity, this (...) (23 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

10020 (A *train* topic!!! Read at own risk!!!)

Well, I received the 10020 yesterday night. Let me tell you that I am most impressed! Sure, lately there has been some concern about our favourite company, TLC, but if they keep putting things like this out, I'll be happy! Now it's sitting on my (...)   Little minifigure champion

On the rtlToronto10 "Scoreboard", there was a little minifigure pumping his arm in triumph next to Rob Stehlik's name. Who drew this? Was it Greg Hyland? It's really cute. Calum (23 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

rtl10.1 Non Event. Informal Test Run for Soccer

Hi folks, I've already mailed this out to a few people, but next Friday night, we're going to do an informal test for Live Soccer: (URL) public is not invited, and this IS NOT AN EVENT--it's really only for rtlToronto regulars. It's literally just a (...) (23 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: 110 VAC powered lego motors

Wall current is not the same everywhere. It is not even always the same over time. I measured my wall voltage once, and it was 117. Now it's 120. Most wall wart adapters drop the voltage by a specific amount, so if the designers of a 9v adapter were (...) (23 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  110 VAC powered lego motors

in some other thread, Mathias said: (...) I don't follow this. if 110 VAC (or some amount) goes in, it drops down to 9 (ish) i know for a fact that the RCX does not have a transformer, so the regulation has to be solid state..... ergo, somewhere in (...)   Re: Guess what.

(...) omgoodness!! I love this idea! It'll have to be done with multiple RCX's fer sure! We use the 4 stud cubes that we used for block stacking/sorting, et al... White and Black, and see what happens! Oh so many ideas!!! Dave (23 years ago, 26-Feb-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Guess what.

(...) I'd love to do a contest like this again. Maybe modify it at little to change things up, but keep the basic concept the same. (...) Battery box. Running ot off of the power supplied to the sensor is an interesting idea, but I doubt it would work very well. The light is brightest with a full 9V. I think the light sensor only recieves 5V or less. Rob (23 years ago, 26-Feb-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
