  Pneumatics and rtl10

I just had a thought about the rules for rtl10 and pneumatics. Are you allowed to pre-charge your pneumatics before the start of a match? I would say yes you can manually, or mechanically, charge your pneumatics before the match. One could argue for (...) (23 years ago, 28-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: train 3 pics uploaded on brickshelf

There should be a main picture page on Calum Tsang's Peachy Server (w/ RTL Events photos) regarding Train 3. (I don't think it is quite ready yet.) It will link all the photos that everybody took. I am quite sure that there were several with photos, (...) (23 years ago, 28-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.trains)

Re: train 3 pics uploaded on brickshelf

Thanks for the pics! Are there any more pics of the sculpted areas of the layout. Can you give a description of the infrastructure you use to achieve the different levels. Also, I would like to see better pics of that bi-level blue and gray commuter (...) (23 years ago, 28-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.trains)

  Re: r10 Project X -- Rules update

(...) Can we bump this up to 50? I want more priority on speed! As Daves example shows, this scoring scheme seems to favour accuracy more than speed. Also, if you have a misplaced block, you should get a score of 0. The whole point of the game is to (...) (23 years ago, 28-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

train 3 pics uploaded on brickshelf

hi, just posting to say that I've uploaded the pics I took at Train 3 (in Toronto, Canada). Here is my lugnet lego page w/ descriptions: (URL) is the actual brickshelf page: (URL) and enjoy!! Benjamin Medinets (23 years ago, 28-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.trains)

  Re: r10 Project X -- Rules update

(...) Done first as in the RCX thinks it's done--misplaced blocks are subtracted from your total. This way, if your 'bot finishes first but gets no blocks right, you end up with a super-low score anyway. (...) Per game-add up all the blocks Example (...)   Re: r10 Project X -- Rules update

(...) So each robot will have a match against everyone else like in r9? That can take a while but we can run two or three matches at the same time since we don't need a play field. (...) OK that should be fine. (...) I guess it means done first (...) (23 years ago, 28-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  r10 Project X -- Rules update

After a few days of discussion, this is a set of simple rules to calculate a score for 2 robots going head to head for the upcoming project X games. Way more info here: (URL) like to suggest a 2 minute time limit. Done first +20 Perfect block +10 (...) (23 years ago, 28-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  deluxe football bus

As I posted in a posting earlier, I bought and combined a complete bus and a partial one to make a deluxe sized one (and added a bunch of other elements, well some white and blue bricks, and white plates, and 2 2X2 blue transparent "wall" pieces.   Silly little story and an OT question

Hey folks, This morning I woke up late and had to rush in to the office for a conference call, but I forgot to charge the battery on my MD player. So I was rummaging around for an AA, of which I found in a package of several AA's from Walmart. I (...) (23 years ago, 26-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: entertaining spectators -- trash talk

(...) Chris, Chris, Chris, Chris, Chris…Confused as always…I won block stackers (remember a 9 block stack vs your 1 or 2 block stack)…Your thinking of that insignificant ‘get your blocks off off my side’ contest. I think Dave 'won' that one but, (...) (23 years ago, 26-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: entertaining spectators -- trash talk

!!!GAME ON!!! (...) that's what you must have done when you coded your block stacker, if I recall it was you who showed up all forlorn and depressed crying that his RCX was broken. Geesh, It was ME who "fixed" your "broken" rcx by flashing new (...) (23 years ago, 25-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Dual IR tower output

Just to show off my ignorance, i wonder if it is as simple as opening up the "box" and parallel 1 or 2 ir LEDs, off the main LED. YES i know that, that would be more current draw, and maybe the Tower circuit was not designed for that, BUT being a (...) (23 years ago, 25-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Point Motor Instructions

Hi folks, I still occasionally get requests for information on my old automatic point motor. Well, I've long since moved to a more compact and reliable model, and after the rtlToronto Train3 show last weekend, I've decided to post the instructions (...)   Re: Dual IR tower output

(...) No, I haven't had the fun of married life just yet :) But I'm not downloading with BBRC, I'm just sending out messages. Like, the Mindstorms Remote Control only sends, it's not smart enough to receive, right? This is the same thing as what (...) (23 years ago, 25-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Dual IR tower output

  Re: Dual IR tower output

(...) Another thing you might want to think about, if we've got a few extra IR towers around - really, you're just trying to improve the coverage of the transmission elements. A spare IR tower has a set of transmission elements. So.. what would it (...) (23 years ago, 25-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  bus fun

As I posted earlier, I bought a soccer bus and a bunch of knights kingdom sets...(4 defense archers and a king leo)... in memory of Train3 (AKA rtl BUS 1), I decided to modify the new bus I received...   Re: Dual IR tower output

(...) Okay, but I only want to send-the BBRC software only sends AFAIK, so I wonder if that's still an issue. What you're saying is that the tower interactive on initialization with the host PC-I wonder of this is the case with BBRC. Is the IR (...) (23 years ago, 25-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: entertaining spectators

(...) You already know this, of course, but for the benefit of those that don't... watch out for hysteresis... the train motor motion will need to be sensed independently. Still, what an interesting application if you do it! (23 years ago, 25-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
