  Re: Love that Costco

(...) Well, we actually only took for Mario one full 8466. The rest people may have scurried away, shuffled underneath a skid somewhere etc. Calum (23 years ago, 4-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) which (...) <sarcasm: ON> NOW they tell us..... <sarcasm: OFF> Let's review the past few days... Day 1 (Jan 1 2002) I go online and see Marios post about $50 8466's! I get excited, because that was just to good of a deal to pass up. I call my (...) (23 years ago, 4-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Where are all the sales?

Where are all the post holiday sales? The local HiFi City (aka MegaCityHiFi) guy said sales were good before Christmas, so they don't have as much excess to clear out in the new year. That seems to be the consensus in the papers with other retail (...) (23 years ago, 4-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: rtl10 is SUPER FUN!

(...) Eep! Iain built a Davish 'Bot!!!!!! Whereas Dave built an Iain wannabe 'bot... Hmmmm..... Anyway, I'll try to get pics of my 'bot up this weekend, if I have time. I have 3 mods build for the train show, which are already factored into the (...) (23 years ago, 4-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  rtl10 is SUPER FUN!

WHEE! So concepts 1, 2, 3, and four have ALL FAILED for me. Everything always ends up being too lightweight or too flimsy. Result? SCREW LIGHTWEIGHT FAST THINGS. I have now created the largest robot I've ever built. It's totally redundantly strong. (...) (23 years ago, 4-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Love that Costco

(...) I'm tending to side with Calum on this one. If you use Costco too sparingly then it isn't worth the $45 you pay for membership. BTW I checked Costco today because at Scam's Club (whose membership I let lapse in November) you can shop there for (...)   Train3, Is there still space for me?

I've been out of touch for a while, so I haven't been able to request my space on the layout for Train3. I hope its still possible to fit me in. I'm planning a 2 module long straight section. It will contain a hill/ridge with the main lines running (...) (23 years ago, 3-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Slightly OT but jolly nevertheless!

I wouldn't normally post this, but since I've talked just so much about this at the dinners and such...   Re: Love that Costco

I'll just jump in here with my 2 cents USD worth of wisdom... Costco is a good deal if used sparingly and with some intelligence. As it happens, I am usually the cook of the household (as I am an unusually good cook) and as a consequence I tend to (...) (23 years ago, 3-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Love that Costco

(...) Yup, we're veering off topic, but I think this is a sort of relevant one, since the topic of the 8466 deal involves this Costco business...overall, Costco can give some good deals. But there's some real issues and practices you need to be (...) (23 years ago, 3-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Happy New Year, 2002

Happy New Year, and I want you all to know I spent New Year's Day teaching myself NQC (I can turn a motor on... but not off... yet), and it's all because of you folks. -Greg Hyland (23 years ago, 3-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.org.ca, lugnet.loc.ca)

  Re: Love that Costco

(...) Yeah, unfortunately so. Costco is a frickin scam, but one I'm unfortunately addicted to with my family. It's something to do with the 3 pound pies, the giant strudels etc. (...)   Re: Love that Costco

(...) This isn't aimed specifically at Mario, but at Costco members in general... I went to Costco this evening only to find out what I had suspected, but never confirmed: you need a membership. Well, I briefly considered purchasing a membership, (...) (23 years ago, 3-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Love that Costco

(...) Unfortunately I went to all the Costco's in the Hamilton area-- none :( If someone could pick me up one from the GTA, I'll gladly pay for it (as well as a bonus for the picking up bit) at dinner in January. If not, no worries. Dave (23 years ago, 2-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
