I wouldn't normally post this, but since I've talked just so much about this
at the dinners and such...

http://www.coasters2k.com/downloads/mov/X.mpg

(19.2 MByte, MPEG-1, 240x160, 29.97 f/s, 44.1 kHz, 96 Bit Stero, runtime is
2:49. )

All footage shot by Steve Greenwood, final edit by me (Iain Hendry). Music
is Silverblue - Step Back (Vocal Mix). It's a hefty download, the largest
video on the site so far. Yes, it POV footage, from the top of the lift into
the final brakes!

X has finally opened... Enjoy! :)

(this is the world's first "Fourth Dimension" coaster by Arrow, the company
that invented tubular steel track. The seats sit not on top, or below the
track, but rather out to the sides, on very wide, 6.5 metre wide chassis.
The seats are permitted to perform pitch-rolling maneouvers via an auxilary
control rail (third and fourth rails) on the track. Sinusoidal oscilations
in the control rails set up rotations in the seats via a rack rail and
pinion on the "pickleforks" (seat brackets). It has been described by those
on rec.roller-coaster who have riden it as simply the most phenominally
smooth and exciting ride in the world.)
