Re: Whatever happened... LETS end this.....

(...) I thought Dave K. nominated himself King, with strong support from J.R.B. Remember... "proclaim that I am hereby appointed king of all the lands... and we shall call it 'This Land'..." Did you miss the memo? -Rob. (20 years ago, 22-Dec-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Trek Talk was Re: Whatever happened...

(...) I loved the end of ST4--we had Sarek and Spock do the father/son "I never used to appreciate the decision you made but now I do" (and for any Trekkie worth their salt, that's a very big thing...) and then the banter on the shuttle "Excelsior??   Re: Whatever happened...

(...) Dave- Without question, my two most favorite times in a movie theatre were watching, for the first time, the space opening through the moon landing in 2001: A Space Odyssey and every second of Star Wars (we saw the 16:00 showing on opening day (...)   Re: Whatever happened...

(...) Many people forget, however, that the 'Gamesters of Triskelion" was after 'Spocks Brain' K, it's not on 'City on the edge of Forever" or "Tomorrow is Yesterday" or "Doomsday Machine", but "Gamesters" is ranking up there in my books ;) Though, (...) Long time no see, Tony. Too long if you ask me, glad to see you around again. (...) Exactly. (...) Good idea. And in the fullness of time, I think he'd realise you're both right.   Re: Hold on bub, this truly is the Golden Age of LEGO Re: Whatever happened...

Calum, That's my thinking. As long as the good outweighs the bad, which as far as the online AFOL community is concerned it does by a mile. So what can we do about some of the nastiness that has arisen here at Lugnet? Well, look no further than this (...) (20 years ago, 22-Dec-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Whatever happened... LETS end this.....

(...) OK rob, your still new(ish) so I'll cut you some slack. 1. I am a barometer of all things lugnet. if its hapening to me, its going on ALL OVER. so you may be right about the BC/AD thing, but what it really means is that MANY people will now, (...)   Re: Whatever happened...

(...) I don't know about that. Lugnet enabled the community to grow to proportions rtl never would have. But those same proportions cause us trouble now. (...) That's true--but there's some amazing stuff out there, especially this last year or two: (...) (20 years ago, 22-Dec-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, FTX)

Re: Hold on bub, this truly is the Golden Age of LEGO Re: Whatever happened...

(...) Wow, good to hear from you! (...) I'll agree we've certainly made a lot of progress since the wild days of atl and rtl, that there is no doubt. Something like Peeron for example, I use all the time when I build (which is not as much as I'd (...) (20 years ago, 22-Dec-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Show me the monkey?

  Wow.....

Hi, I'm one of those who's real life has been getting in the way of LEGO. I'd been occasionally reading cad, cad.dev, technic, and robotics. Pretty high signal to noise ratio there, although things are slow. I decide on a whim to go read RTLtoronto, (...) (20 years ago, 22-Dec-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Show me the monkey?

I'm not a rtlToronto member, but I remember when the "Show me the Monkey" event was held in fall of 2001. It was fairly soon after I discovered LUGNET. It was a month after 9/11 and helped take my mind off the unpleasantness of that time. I heard (...) (20 years ago, 22-Dec-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Whatever happened...

(...) Sorry don't under stand this 100% (the English language here). I guess you mean, that people complain about new sets, bad design etc. Some do, I still (an most?) see sets as bricks, we build our own. New colours - that causes a lot to discuss. (...)
