Re: MF & UCS Tie are here...

(...) <Looks at clock: 7:53> Hmm. Too late to catch a bus and head up there now. Maybe tomorrow! Anybody in Edmonton sent in bulk orders yet? (24 years ago, 15-Jun-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

MF & UCS Tie are here...

As with many places across Canada, we have them at TRU. The north side TRU has 2 of each left, and if you can get them this week, it's 20% off. Somehow I doubt we're going to see a better price on these anytime soon. The UCS looks really cool. Gotta (...) (24 years ago, 15-Jun-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

  Re: Logo for PNLTC cars

Hello Chris, If I am to 'plagiarize' a companies logo, it might be better to use an older version. The newer gold emblem looks sharp, but printing in that color is not easy to do. The more I look at the blue 1917 version, the more I like it Michel (...) (24 years ago, 7-Jun-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

  Re: Logo for PNLTC cars

(...) If it fits, sure. I have a very vague recollection of seeing a maple leaf outline across a brick. Perhaps something Ritvik did at some point. (...) wouldn't modify very well, I suspect. It's likely that no-one except train buffs would (...) (24 years ago, 7-Jun-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

  Re: Logo for PNLTC cars

Hello, The idea of a brick instead of the shield is GREAT, would the maple leaf still be applied on the brick? This site has all the logos from the CPR in chronological order (URL) other logo that would probably be easier to modify is the one from (...) (24 years ago, 6-Jun-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

  Re: Logo for PNLTC cars

(...) To my eye, that one looks like a newer version of the emblem. Back when I was into model railroading, the favorite was the old purple and grey colour scheme. I'm stretching my memory here, but I *think* the beaver was in colour then. In any (...) (24 years ago, 6-Jun-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

  Logo for PNLTC cars

Hello everyone, I finally had time to search out Canadian Pacific corporate logos. I found a great site (URL) was thinking of calling the railroad Canadian Prairie (Lego?) Railroad, and I wonder if you think their logo can be converted. Do you know (...) (24 years ago, 6-Jun-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

  Looks like no show... :(

Crappy news from my front, folks. I just got an e-mail back from Kahshe Productions, quoted below: "thanks for the email. we have changed the name & the focus of the show this year to just the edmonton woodworking show. the hobby component did not (...)   Re: nalug Domain Name

(...) Our outing today was fun. Started at 1:00 p.m. and I got home about 8:00 p.m. (we stopped at Walmart on the way back, but no purchases). Be sure to let us know when you're around for a get-together! -Chris G. (24 years ago, 21-May-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

  nalug Domain Name

I've just sent off a registration request for the 'nalug.ab.ca' domain name. The form says we should hear back in 3 - 5 days. A lot of the info that they wanted is not stuff we have. I've put myself as the admin and tech contact for the domain name, (...) (24 years ago, 20-May-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

  news versus email

It just occurred to me that there is one more reason why people would sometimes want to use the mailing list instead of this nifty Lugnet newsgroup - timeliness. I read news normally once or twice a day, but I read email whenever I get notified of (...) (24 years ago, 20-May-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

  Creating a video...

NALUG has been invited to have a booth this fall at the Edmonton Woodworking & Hobby Show. One of the things I would like to put together is a short (5 or 10 minutes) infomercial showcasing some of the amazing LEGO community on the web. What I (...)
