  Ripping Vinyl to Digital

Has anyone transferred their LP's to MP3 or CD audio? I'm just getting started, and I'd appreciate any hints, tips or warnings! What I've done so far: I've patched the tape-out on my amplifier to the line-in on my sound card. Since I'm running Win98 (...) (25 years ago, 3-Feb-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

(...) I've been using Adaptec's Easy CD Creator (basic version came with my Yamaha burner, and I upgraded to Deluxe V3.5), and it seems to be able to handle noise rather well, considering how simple the interface is. It's pretty much set up for ease (...) (25 years ago, 3-Feb-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Steve, I have not looked too close, but you can get that CD duplicator that is a stand alone unit. It might have a line-in on it. I have been using a Minidisc system from Sony. It is a really sweet system, and I can put anything on it, from Digital (...) (25 years ago, 3-Feb-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

(...) if you really wanted to get ambitious.. couldn't you use the phillips cd audio burner and connect that directly up to the TT? then at least you'd rid yourself of the analog->digital being directly into the computer... may result in better (...) (...) Keep in mind thought that MD's use ATRAC compression, which is a bit lossy. Most people won't notice any serious difference with most music, but some diehard audiophiles (the kind who'll spend $2K on an amplifier kit using vacuum tubes) have a (...) (...) It's been done. :) A company calling itself Pine is coming out with a critter they're naming the D'Music SM-200C, which can read MP3 audio from a CD. I've not checked it out further, but the information I've got lists their website as (...) (25 years ago, 4-Feb-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)
