  Re: Fellowship on Film

(...) Yes, kids younger than 10 should start reading the book. By the time they finish they will have no problem with the film. (It is PG-13.) (...) No need to duck and run..... though grinning is expected. :) Notice that I said "big LEGO fan". Does that make me a BLF? Is there a "LEGO Acronyms for Dummies" book that I could buy? I'm really struggling with some of these. But 'big' is about (...) (23 years ago, 21-Dec-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Sometimes being vocal about the hobby pays off

Hey everyone - I just stopped by my boss's house to pick up a check, and she handed me a couple presents. The boxes were quite big. A quick look identified them as either a 3033 or a Creator tub, and a basic tub (studs on the top). Turns out I got a (...) (23 years ago, 21-Dec-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Fellowship on Film

I would agree to not take any small children to see Lord of the Rings, but for a different reason: no kid under 10 years old would be able to sit through the whole movie without needing to go to the bathroom, even if they had gone right before it (...)   Re: Fellowship

(...) Yes, well it does. But there is some dispute among Tolkien scholars about just how long Gandalfs toes were. Some claim that his toes reached about to his belt, based on scientific evidence relating toe length to thickness of eyebrows, while (...) (23 years ago, 21-Dec-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Fellowship on Film

First of all, do NOT take any small children to see this film. I would say probably 10 would be the youngest who should see it, and that is pushing it. Younger kids will have nightmares for weeks, possibly years, if they are subjected to this film. (...) (23 years ago, 21-Dec-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Fellowship

(...) Speaking of which, one little thing that bugged me all through the movie: The Dark Lord's stronghold is apparantly not Mordor, but is in fact Morrrdor. Roll the first "r", but definately not the second. Ah well, it's better than finding out (...) (23 years ago, 20-Dec-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Fellowship

A few spoilers: 1. Fellowship is the first part of a trilogy 2. There will be two more movies in the trilogy 3. Gandalf looks suspiciously like Magneto 4. Elijah Wood is four feet tall in real life 5. Samwise is *not* voiced by Roddy MacDowell 6. (...) (23 years ago, 20-Dec-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)
