Yes, well it does. But there is some dispute among Tolkien scholars about
just how long Gandalfs toes were. Some claim that his toes reached about to
his belt, based on scientific evidence relating toe length to thickness of
eyebrows, while others hold they rise higher, based on an obscure passage in
the Similarillion which quotes "The Wise oft took to the guise of simple
folk, wearing robes and sandles, and wandering toe great length." Others
hold that it's just a typo that Christopher missed.
