  Re: Shell Autoshow Ferrari

(...) I'm still amazed at some of the Aussie utes I saw... the one I think was most amazing was a Falcon with a tray bed (instead of the streamlined kind) and tandem rear axles. But ya, a Commy SS is a gofast car and it handles well too. My favorite (...) (24 years ago, 2-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Shell Autoshow Ferrari

(...) I've seen the Marlin. (remember, I was born in DEEtroit, still have some motor oil in my veins, and at one point I had 8 cars within my control (although not pinkslip to all of them)... I've cut way back and only have 4 now) It's but-ugh!-ly. (...) (24 years ago, 2-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Shell Autoshow Ferrari

(...) My father says the ugliest car he has ever seen was the Marlin, made sometime between 1965 and 1968, by the same people who made the Gremlin (American Motors?). Neither of us have been able to find any pictures of it, though... Jeff "I'm (...) (24 years ago, 2-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Shell Autoshow Ferrari

(...) Yea, verily. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the first preprod at the auto show, and the production version is, if anything, even uglier. I'd say it was the worst (looking) vehicle the General has ever foisted on the public, but there (...) (24 years ago, 2-Feb-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Patent Awarded for Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich

Patents are just a Civil government's way of playing the same game the Monarch's had with Royal Grants and Monopolies. Only thing that has changed is who gets the kickbacks. A little quote that makes me laugh "The examination of applictions for (...) (24 years ago, 1-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Problems with Darwin's theory

(...) Nonsense! Why, just last week I saw lightning. How can you explain it other than Zeus? For that matter, I suppose you're going to suggest that the accompanying rain was *not* Zeus urinating through a seive? Dave! (24 years ago, 1-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Problems with Darwin's theory

(...) Well, not that I want to bring up any ugly memories or anything, but I'll content myself with saying that Larry still hasn't proved that Greek gods exist, let along that they're visiting the moon and bringing back rocks. James (24 years ago, 1-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Patent Awarded for Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich

This is another absurdity from the US Patent Office. We know they're completely out of touch these days, that's beyond debating, and I'd rather not. They have now allowed a patent on the peanut butter and jelly sandwich. The kind with crimped edges. (...) (24 years ago, 1-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)
