    Re: Herring —Erik Olson
(...) Hey, is Brie becoming more popular? Are you seeing it more grocery stores? I did not know it had that much fat in it. Makes sense though. I like brie... They kept me away from the herring for DAYS. All through the holiday season. Every time I (...) (24 years ago, 6-Jan-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

        Re: Herring —Maggie Cambron
(...) I don't know if it is or not. They seem to carry it in a lot of supermarkets, but I never buy it there because you never know how long it's been sitting there and so either it takes on the taste of plastic wrapping or it isn't as runny around (...)    Hey all! I hope you have some herring in 2002! I've got mine right here, with pumpernickel! Happy New Year! -Erik (23 years ago, 1-Jan-02, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

        Re: Herring —Maggie Cambron
(...) Cut down a tree with a herring?? It can't be done! Anyway, no herring under my tree this year-- only a ten pound chocolate bar (well there was more, but I had no trouble eating the rest). I feel like an ape discovering a monolith-- what do you (...) (23 years ago, 1-Jan-02, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

        Re: Herring —Erik Olson
(...) There is something about ten pounds of chocolate that calls for big drum sounds and trumpets! (...) This is the point where you hear the word "Brie", Maggie. (23 years ago, 2-Jan-02, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

         Re: Herring —Maggie Cambron
(...) Yes! I always thought something like this would be my dream gift, especially after suffering through years of gifts featuring the feline motif (call me a stick in the mud, but I don't wear clothes with pictures of cats on them). Now it seems (...) (23 years ago, 6-Jan-02, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

        Re: Herring —Erik Olson
It's that time of year when I post of herring. Ekastor! On my second trip to the supermarket in Wisconsin with my niece to buy last minute items, I picked up a jar of herring. The selection was very poor, I was accused of being some kind of (...) (22 years ago, 29-Nov-02, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

         Re: Herring —Bruce Schlickbernd
(...) You didn't get what you searched for? Must have been a red herring. Or maybe when you asked for more they didn't understand because they were hard of herring?         Re: Herring —Erik Olson
(...) Herring heaven! Grandma served "Ma Baensch Imported Herring Tidbits in Wine Sauce." Made in Milwaukee from Atlantic herring, this is the best stuff I've tasted!         Re: Herring —Maggie Cambron
(...) Two jars of each flavor is tempting. But what if it arrives on a sunny day and sits baking on the porch all afternoon?      Guacamole! Do you make a taco layer dip? I like sliced avocado and tomato on turkey with seven-grain bread. Guess who is cooking dinner tonight. Tostitos scoops are neat. When I saw them this weekend I started to think of how to build with them. (...) (22 years ago, 27-Dec-02, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

        Re: Herring —Erik Olson
Yes, I really do like herring. I will even eat it much more than once a year if offered.
