  Antz movie?

I've been away from the "real world" for a bit and can't remember whether _Antz_ is supposed to be out yet but I think it is... Is it just another _Small_Soldiers_ or is it as good as _Toy_Story_? --Todd (26 years ago, 5-Oct-98, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Antz movie?

(...) From the responses I've heard it seems closer to TS than SS. I'll wait for video, though. (26 years ago, 5-Oct-98, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Antz movie?

(...) I didn't see SS, I don't go to movies much other than kids movies, so I can't compare. But I loved the show ReBoot and loved Toy Story. (as well as other "unconventional animateds" like James and the GP, and Nightmare before Christmas, both (...) (26 years ago, 5-Oct-98, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Antz movie?

(...) If it's not out yet, it will be soon. I think is imminent. Supposedly, Antz is more aimed at adults than are other computer-animated movies featuring insects. How good is it? I dunno. I didn't see Small Soldiers, but I suspect Antz will be (...) (26 years ago, 5-Oct-98, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Antz movie?

(...) I haven't seen it yet, but I've got higher hopes for Pixar's upcoming Bugs' Life. A review of Antz I read concluded that Woody Allen's character's dialog seemed cut&pasted from other Woody Allen movies. So if you like that sort of thing.... (...)   Re: Antz movie?

(...) I must be out of it again -- had't heard of that one yet! :-) (...) There's a couple old B&W Woody Allen movies that I really loved but I know what you mean about the typecasting...almost showed in the commercials... :) But I think I'll go see (...)   Re: Antz movie?

(...) Aha! Another ReBoot fan! I was bummed when ABC pulled that off. Does anyone else carry that show, or was it just left hanging? I liked the occasional subtle Star Trek references. (My favorite joke from that show was a banner that hung on a (...) (26 years ago, 5-Oct-98, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Antz movie?

(...) It's from Pixar, which means all the clout of Disney with hopefully a minimum of Disney's typical evilness. (Not the things that have the Baptists upset -- I'm glad for that. Just their general syrupy mucking with history and fable.) Anyway (...) (26 years ago, 5-Oct-98, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Antz movie?

Mouse Hunt may have been the first release BUT Antz is the first computer generated release which is getting all of the attention. The big deal about "Antz" and "a Bugs Life" is that Bugs Life was already on the drawing board at disney/pixar when (...) (26 years ago, 9-Oct-98, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)
