Re: Clearly those Canadians are concerned about censorship...

(...) You seem to be under the impression that american television hasn't shown bare breast before. Halftime at the Super Bowl was just an inappropriate place. I thought the commercials were far more tastless (even more tasteless than the beer they (...) (20 years ago, 8-Apr-04, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: The Fake Fossil (Was: Problems with Darwin's theory)

(...) Kinda throws things into confusion, but it also reminds everyone to be wary. (...) Pretty much. If they want to seize on the small number of fakes, they'll have to answer to the large number of fake faith healers as a disproof of God. I don't (...)   Re: Handgun Death Rate

(...) I've certainly read a number of instances where this is true - but in Victorian times in England, people would tackle criminals, too, with neither side armed with guns. It may be more a function of the times. But then again, maybe it means the (...) (23 years ago, 18-Jul-01, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

You may wish to actually quote the exact passage that you are refering to, since what I read would seem to support me. 2: Unsupported (...) (22 years ago, 1-Apr-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Sticking my gun where it doesn't belong...

(...) It's about telling a story - it's a short-cut to tell the audience that tension is ratcheting up and that events are now balanced upon a fine hair. Using a gun in single-action mode (manually pulling back the trigger) is usually entirely (...) (21 years ago, 29-Jul-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

(...) I don't see how it is a case of the pot calling the kettle black. Inasmuch as the minority groups formed due to ostracism, and the "white" group is not forming for the same reason, I can see where McCelland's concern is coming from. It seems (...)
