  Re: Inter-racial, Inter-religious, Inter-national relationships

(...) Yup, SAT 9 (Chino Hills). They just finished yesterday. My son's teacher pointed out to him how to indicate both. They still want the kid to make a choice with that "most identifies with" bit, so with luck I screwed up the computer scan by (...) (23 years ago, 5-May-01, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Society does it's best to enforce that outcome - I always get steamed when my son comes home from school with one of those "mark only one" forms under "race" (I always disobey the rule and point out to my son why I'm doing it). (...) Yes and no. One can carry it to rude proportions quite easily (especially those with a sour expression on their face), but honestly, people tend to look at things out of the ordinary. OK, now we get to the heart of the matter that I was trying to put my finger on when I started this... but before I comment on Josh's post let me say this... For example, if California is so liberal, how did Pete Wilson and George Deukmajin hold the governor's office for 16 straight years, with the legislature usually within a couple seats of each (...) I gotta say, I don't get this one. A few odd birds get killed. Can't say I like it, but at the same time, how many get killed by the pollution of a coal-burning power plant?
