At any sign of price increases our idiot govenor makes a big stink and forces
the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) to back down. Everytime they hold a
meeting a bunch of morons show up to protest increasing prices. We haven't
had price increases in over three years.  Keep in mind, inspite of a few
intelligent people, California is largely a liberal state.

Why don't a few of the allegedly-intelligent non-liberal morons show up at
these meetings and do something about it?

    Dave!

California is a study in contrasts and balance.  For example, if California
is so liberal, how did Pete Wilson and George Deukmajin hold the governor's
office for 16 straight years, with the legislature usually within a couple
seats of each other the whole time?  Gray Davis could just as easily run as
a liberal Republican as he did as a conservative Democrat.  Those power
plants should have been built on Pete Wilson's watch.

None of which excuses any of Davis' dismal performance.

But then, what did you expect from that conservative? ;-)
