Re: Ames 75% Star Wars LEGO

(...) Well, I tried, but didn't get the discount. The store manager kept telling me that it was star wars brand only. I thought I was going to walk out with 4 destroyer droids for the price of one. O well. It was the Ames in Weymouth, MA so don't (...) (24 years ago, 31-May-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Ames 75% Star Wars LEGO

(...) What is Star Wars brand? Aren't all the SW toys made by various toy companies who have just paid for the license to make them? What makes action figures any more a star wars "brand" than an X-wing Lego set? Hrmmm.... (24 years ago, 31-May-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) me (...) That comment made me do the confused-doggie-head-tilt (rarf?) too. I simply pointed out the words "ENTIRE STOCK" and the Ames management acquiesced. I think it was intended to apply primarily to the designated "Star Wars area" items (...) (24 years ago, 31-May-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) Usually it's stated in the ad when those exceptions are made--and the excuse "that was a misprint" is hardly going to fly in a situation where a company was clearly caught with its proverbial pants down. The honorable thing to do is take the (...) (24 years ago, 31-May-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) Check the Ames on Rt 22 outside of monroeville. I've had some good finds there. Also, not really related to the Ames sale but I recently had a cool experiance at the S.W.   Re: Ames 75% Star Wars LEGO

G'day all, So since I work in Michigan, but they don't have any Ames stores, I had to scheme up a way to get in on this 75% deal. Option #1 was to drive to Ohio and start looking. But that required actual effort. However, option #2 only required me (...) (24 years ago, 2-Jun-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)
