The interesting thing was... it wasn't even my idea. To be honest, it had
never occured to me. I had always looked at Shop At Home and thought, "I'd
love to start ordering again, but it's hard to stomach paying $4.50 U.S.
shipping for a couple of bulk packs." I typically don't spend a lot of
money all at once on LEGO... that's just the way I am. I prefer to spend
$20 here or $30 there and enjoy smaller purchases more often.
So a co-worker who was waivering about placing her order wondered if anyone
wanted to go in with her so that _she_ could get the free shipping. The
rest just worked out very well for all of us. As it is, I'm getting a few
more bulk packs on our 2nd order. So all of my purchases together still
don't total $99 but I've now had two chances to go 'shopping' from the LEGO
Direct site... that can't be bad. :)
I posted the idea not because it's terribly original, but simply for the
fact that maybe there were others out there who hadn't thought to try this
either.
I'm still waiting on my 'Holiday Kit' to arrive from our first order, which
I will of course display on my PC at work. :)
All the best,
Allan B.
