  ZB deals

My local Zany Brainy had nine 4565 Trains and around 15-20 8480 Shuttles left yesterday. Wish I could afford to buy them all, but my wife already grimaced when I brought home two loads of shopping bags. Prices (tax already factored in): 4565: $85.27 (...)   K-Mart sale this week

The Sunday newpaper for K-Mart mentions that "all construction toys are 20% off (regular price)". This includes Lego, K'nex and MegaBlocks. Ray (25 years ago, 19-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: Clearance at Shopko

I just came back from two Shopko's in Idaho and they had the sets on sale (45-50% off). One store still had the old clearance prices (20% off) marked on the labels, But they did ring up at the better price. I found that ALL 1998 Adventurer's sets, (...)   Clearance at Shopko

I was in Shopko in Lincoln, Nebraska tonight, and they have quite a few items on clearance. Sonic Cycle normally $7.99 for $4.49 (TRU sells these for $9.99) Pharaoh Forbidden Ruins $43.00 (TRU still have them for $40?) Small Ninja sets normally (...)   Re: 4565 is $50 off at Zany Brainy

(...) train (...) rung (...) some, (...) The Sacramento ZB had them on sale last night for $99.95. They had three on the shelf when I left. They may have more in the back also. Dan (25 years ago, 18-Dec-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Lego 4559 at Potomac Mills - $107.99

(...) There's a couple of these in the TRU on Route 18 in East Brunswick, NJ. I think they're $129, though. best, Lindsay (25 years ago, 18-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Lego 4559 at Potomac Mills - $107.99

I called the outlet store to see if they had any 3225 classic trains before I ordered from S@H (they do not have any) and they told me that the only train set that they had in stock was 4559 for $107.99. Of course, I just picked up two of these from (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: TRU.com slow response

I kept sending emails to TRU about various problems and all I ever got in return was their generic "thank you for your comments". This weekend I emailed them and stated in caps that if I didn't get a response to my email from a "real" person, that I (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: TRU.com slow response

(...) I'm sure they weren't ready for this--especially once they lowered those prices for a week. My understanding is that they weren't getting the expected number of hits, so they *overcompensated* and got absolutely nailed. Someone goofed, but it (...)   Re: e-Commerce, Entertainer, Exchange rate

(...) I've heard from a couple of friends of mine who run online computer "stores" that their merchant agreements specifically forbid charging before shipment. Wouldn't know that to see what some companies do, though. (25 years ago, 17-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: e-Commerce, Entertainer, Exchange rate

(...) Well, ultimately, Nick should *not* eat the cost. I agree that the Entertainer should, if anyone does. This was all essentially their fault anyway - the mistake, the orders needing to be cancelled, yada, yada, yada... (25 years ago, 17-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: TRU.com slow response

(...) I did get 8 of a set instead of 9 but today I'm going to the UPS center to pick up what I think may be a duplicate shipment that order. I've gotten slow delivery and very speedy delivery both. (25 years ago, 17-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: e-Commerce, Entertainer, Exchange rate

Because they shouldn't have processed the charge in the first place (IMO). It's probably true that the credit card company would probably not take an actual loss anyway so that probably makes more sense. Perhaps just a peeve of mine but I don't (...)   Re: TRU.com slow response

I placed 4 orders with TRU when they had their Star Wars lego sets on sale. All of them took longer then I think it warranted to get here, and some of them just got here a couple days ago! I believe (IMHO) that they listed stuff as in-stock that (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: e-Commerce, Entertainer, Exchange rate

(...) Why should the vendor pay? Again, I don't think the credit card company exchanges money on a daily basis. I don't think they even bill the vendor on a daily basis. Also, the vendor is dealing with their local branch of the credit card company. (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: TRU.com slow response

(...) I would be hesitant to make *any* online (or mail order for that matter) purchase if I was planning a move within the next month or two. I've ordered from TRU.com three times now and have had no problems other than slow delivery. Doug (25 years ago, 17-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: e-Commerce, Entertainer, Exchange rate

(...) My guess is the CC company will pay for it but the Entertainer *should*. They (credit card) may prefer it if you dispute the charge and refund. Doug (25 years ago, 17-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: e-Commerce, Entertainer, Exchange rate

(...) It seems to me they should eat it. In all probability, they paid nothing since they presumably don't exchange money on a daily basis. From what I know about credit card companies (from my mother working the phones for a credit card company), I (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: TRU.com slow response

(...) Lucky you. I made an order almost 3 weeks ago. After it had been a week and I hadn't heard anything, I tried calling the TRU.com toll free number. Every time I called the number it kept disconnecting me. Once I got sick of that I emailed (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: e-Commerce, Entertainer, Exchange rate

To me it seems like a fair course of events (between the credit card and myself that is). One day they exchanged currency a for currency b. The next day they converted currency b back into currency a. It would have been better for me if the order (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)
