Re: Wal-Mart in USA now sells "LEGOS"

(...) Clearly no one should be using reporters as sources for proper English usage. There should not be any presumption of competency there, just because they write for a living. (...) Yes,it does. At least in my view. (21 years ago, 9-Jul-03, to lugnet.market.shopping, FTX)

Re: Wal-Mart in USA now sells "LEGOS"

(...) Okay I never really understood why any one puts a big fuss, but I do understand where they come from. As far as saying Lego or Legos. There was an article in the Arizona Repulsive about lego. The reporter kept saying legos. I remember a number (...) (21 years ago, 9-Jul-03, to lugnet.market.shopping, FTX)

Re: Wal-Mart in USA now sells "LEGOS"

(...) Your examples are not analogous. More like "Xerox" or "Kleenex" or "Rollerblades". These company's brand names have fallen victim to the equation of a product, but not necessarily their product. (...) Not true at all! If "legos" becomes (...)   Fake LEGO sets on eBay

Did a search for LEGO CASTLE sets, and found this: (URL) a search for Lego Compatible and found a whole bunch of these fake 'lego' sets. All from Hong Kong. While the seller says these are NOT LEGO products, and the boxes do not say LEGO anywhere, (...) (21 years ago, 9-Jul-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Wal-Mart in USA now sells "LEGOS"

(...) Personally, I never understood Lego's big fuss over the use of the term "Legos" for their products. (Or any Lego fan's big fuss, for that matter). They tried for 25 years (maybe more) to tell people to stop using the term, yet people still do. (...) (21 years ago, 9-Jul-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Wal-Mart in USA now sells "LEGOS"

It seems that in the latest round of in-store rearranging, several things have changed at Walmart stores. The ones I visited now have Black signage with white lettering that hang from the store shelving. The new sign for Lego® brand building toys is (...)   Re: Huge Sale @ Atlanta LEGO Outlet

(...) Which outlet is it? Discover Mills or Premium Outlet? If it is Discover, gives me an incentive to go see the NGLTC's open house on Saturday. John (21 years ago, 8-Jul-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: California Lego Imagination Center has new LEGO Sets

(...) Hey, I know Mickey Mouse (I even have a picture of myself with him to prove it!) - will that work for the discount? ;) (...) Yup, I was at LLCA on Monday and they had what looked to be all the World City sets, Space and Train sets - they even (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jul-03, to lugnet.org.us.lugola, lugnet.market.shopping)

FOTM: Mindstorms , and a place to check for lego

Hi all, Just thought I'ld share a little FOTM, which also showcases a new place to look for Lego. My NLSO was looking for furniture at (URL), which is basically a free, semi-localized classified ads service. She stumbled upon a local guy selling (...)   Re: Target Clearance: Gringott's $7!

  Re: Target Clearance: Gringott's $7!

(...) In the case of the Hogwarts Castle, it scanned $0.00 on the aisle, it rang "not on file" at a checkout and also at guest services. GS had to get someone from toys to come up with a hand price scanner gun to find out the real price was 75% off. (...) (21 years ago, 27-Jun-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Where and what to buy?

(...) As I suspected. Sigh. It is STILL lost on me why Pitsco got the Dacta monopoly in the US from LEGO... I haven't seen the value add or synergy from combining them, but that's just me. (...) Indeed. Their shipping is 6% or 6 dollars... whichever (...) (21 years ago, 27-Jun-03, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.market.shopping)
