Well, it looks like there is some interest in the game box, so let's
flesh the idea out a little bit.

"Must point with your elbow" would indeed not be very usefull for a game
like this, so we'll have to give some thought to the form of rules that
are acceptable.  My original thought was that they would all be in the
form "trade x for y" but that might be too restrictive.  What kinds of
rules (in general form) does anyone think would or would not be
appropriate.

A list of clearly(?) appropriate rules following the form that I
originally intended is:

a) If you remove red bricks, replace them with windows or black bricks.
b) If you remove decorated tiles, replace them with pink plates or whole minifigs.
c) If you remove bendy-arm hinge elements, replace them with 45 degree slopes.
d) If you remove transparent elements, replace them with railings,
grilles, fences, etc.
e) If you remove slopes, replace them with two elements for every slope
you take.
f) You must replace the elements you take with at least double the
number of studs you take.
g) Each element you take that is primarily white, must be replaced by
three that are not.

On the other hand, being more liberal about rules is difficult to define
reasonably.  Writing the form for good rules is impossible if a
requisite is making them abuse proof.  Some examples follow.  Please let
me know what you think of the following examples:

a) If you take elements from the box, you must replace them with exactly
twice as many.

b) If you take windows you must replace them with doors.

c) If you take regular bricks you must replace them with silver brick(s).

d) You must increase the value of the box using a set of Auczilla prices
as a guide.

e) If you exchange with the box, you must also deposit a photograph of
yourself with your name printed on back.

f) If you exchange with the box, you must also shave your head into the box.

In addition to the LEGO that you replace your take with, you must
include some item from your life that others may choose to take with
whatever LEGO they want.  You must put a price tag on said item so that
future folks will know what it's worth.

So, any comments?

Chris

What happens if two rules conflict? Or are mutually exclusive? Should you only follow one rule in the box for the time you have it? (I would say no) Should you have to follow the rules in numerical order as you trade with the box? (I think yes - no (...) (25 years ago, 21-Sep-99, to lugnet.market.jambalaya)
