Shop Names (Was: Re: BAYLIT - Brickbay) —Dan Jezek
(...) I thought about that and about showing shops with 10K+ parts in bold but then shops also have sets in them so it would have to be a combination of how many parts and how many sets one has in their shop. How would you determine how many parts (...) (24 years ago, 29-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

(...) I'll bet 50 qatloos that I can come up with a method to circumvent any rule like that that you come up with. Want to base it on number of parts, or $ value of inventory? No problem: I'll just offer 150,000 Technic friction pins at $2 apiece. (...) (24 years ago, 29-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

(...) True, but it is a start. Unfortunately, there are also a large number of lots that qualify as more than just a 'part' or 'set'. Currently, I have a large lot of green slopes that fit into this category. Are they a single item or a set? Just (...) (24 years ago, 29-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: Shop Names (Was: Re: BAYLIT - Brickbay) —Frank Buiting
(...) IMHO You can't compare the value of sets with bricks. Is a shop that has 10K of bricks better than a shop that has one Metroliner and a Guarded Inn for sale? Is the shop with one 4558 better than a shop that sells 10 small sets? I would like (...) (24 years ago, 29-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

         RE: Shop Names —Doug Finney
This "problem" probably doesn't warrant this much discussion but what the hell. :-) Re: Special Characters in store names - I think it's pretty cheesy. I'm less likely to browse a store that's at the top of the list because of such a trick but it (...) (24 years ago, 29-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

(...) And what do you do when someone named Aaron wants to have his shop be "Aaron's LEGO", perfectly reasonable (and if his last name is Smith, I'm sure he'd far rather be "Aaron's LEGO" than "Smith's LEGO").      (...) But not if it was sorted in descending order. Anyone who knows what's going on, will know how they're sorted, and maybe it gives an edge to the smaller guys sometimes.
