I think thats an assumption on your part. So far, two or three individuals have
indicated that they *are* receiving mail from BB. I am not, but I am not letting
that interfer with my normal order functioning. I can still detect new orders by
looking at the "Orders / Received' screen, I can still download order detail
contents, I can still generate manual invoives (as I have always done). This has
not greatly interferred with my ability to fulfil orders, however I *suspect*
that it *is* having an impact on the order volume.

One seller sent along this note via email on 6.13.01 -->
"Hello Kevin, Thank you for your order! We haven't been receiving order
notifications from BrickBay so we're unsure of your payment method."

For the most part, the payment type that was presented in the BrickBay
distribution was meaningless to me. I always quote the full set of payments
amounts, then let the buyer decide at that time how to make payment.

I had a bunch of orders placed in the first week of June, and all of those
sales were delayed because of no order invoicing.  Sellers had to (have to?)
check their BB orders received and manually generate an invoice.

A non-starter for me, as I have always generated my own invoices.

As for Wanted emails, I have not received any since 5.29.01  This could be
because no new inventory has been added for the items on my want list.
So, just now I added a wanted entry for 1x1 and 1x2 bricks with default
parameters and we will see if I get any notices out of that.  I also just added
some wanted notices for items in my own store (and will ask a friend to do so)
in order to verify that wanted notices get sent when I finally open my store.

I think this is the real 'harm being caused'. If someone is really astute, they
*may* be able to detect additions / changes in the on-screen wanted report
detail. I suspect that some people do not take the time to look, and others may
miss an amount change (like adding more of a particular item). While BB did not
previously report amount changes (per se), when I do a batch upload, and combine
like entries, a 'Wanted' notification would have been geenrated for the new
entry, thereby triggering a glance from a prospective buyer.

Overall, I'm still not convinced that these features are working 100% properly
100% of the time.  I will not open my shop until I am convinced.

Anyone with further proof--I'm ready to hear it.

We are receiving mails from BBay regulary (sometimes a few hours late but still ...) It happened only once (about 2 months ago) that we haven't got one transaction report ... We have no idea if "wanted" notifications work .. but we'll find out soon (...) (23 years ago, 18-Jun-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)
