Greetings all,
I was discussing some time-saving MOC parts ideas and I came up with an idea
for a software utility that could significantly reduce the amount of time
spent digging around for loose parts. Currently, to the best of my knowledge,
when someone wants to build a MOC with parts they dont currently have, they
have a few options: 1) they can go to WalMart, Target, Bricklink, eBay or
another online source and order parts one at a time ...

If you go into BrickLinks Search, then Find Stores, you can upload an XML
file of all the parts you want, and it will find the stores which have all (or
most) of those parts.
Theres a help file on how to build the XML file
here. For my own use, I created
a simple form that lets me pick the parts I need, then I paste it into the Find
Stores page, and I get all the stores which have all or some of the parts I
need.
In the example linked above, the XML searches for a Blue 1 x 1 Brick and Black
2 x 2 Brick. Pasting the XML into the page will get you
this
results page. When you click on the store name in the results, youre
presented with the inventory of just the pieces you selected.
Maybe this helps?
