I'd agree with this wrap up... many eBay sellers are grossly
misrepresenting stuff. They're so far off the mark that it doesn't
really matter which of us is right exactly about what MIB means, it's
not even close to what they say.

HOWEVER, I as you know try to be scrupulously honest in my writeups and
when I say:

- Mint, I mean that all pieces are present, no stickers are applied,
everything is in as close to like new as is possible... my write up will
disclose whether the box is present or not.

- MIB, I mean the box may be open, but the parts are still in their
parts bags...  and all the inserts etc are present.

- MISB, what I mean is that the set box has never been opened. Seals are
intact, but the box may be beat up.

- MISMB, I mean that the box itself is mint condition with little or no
damage. Note that I have NEVER listed a MISMB yet. All my boxes have
enough scuff marks (even ones that I pull right out of the casepacks)
that I don't consider the boxes themselves mint.

Neglecting the specific nitpicking on what Mint means (and I am mightily
restraining myself from joining in, this is just the sort of debate I
love) do people have any issues with these descriptions?

At least this seller gave a (presumably) honest description of the
set's condition once you get past the title. That's more than can
be said for a lot of sellers!

Highly agreed!  Although it is easy to pick a person apart on listings,
let's save our energy attacking and slandering the people who list sets
currently available at numerous places (i.e. 2000 Star Wars sets) as RARE!!!

Semantics aside, the person gave as honest a description as one can expect
from ebay.

(...) Nope, no issues with your labels. But that's at least partly because I know you, and I trust your judge when you say something is worthy to be described as Mint (with any appropriate modifiers). One more point: when dealing with toys, (...) (25 years ago, 4-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.auction)
