  Re: Old catalogs - value?

It is tough on catalogs since there were some years the were duds and other that were must haves. The general rule of thumb is the older it is, and of course the better condition it is, generally makes it more valuable. The Holiday issues that were (...)   Old catalogs - value?

Hi all, Can anyone give me any rule to calculate the value of old catalogs? Is it strictly up to the buyer to value them, or are there precedents in this sort of deal that can be followed? I sthe price calculated like for old Lego? (condition, age, (...) (23 years ago, 5-Nov-01, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

Re: Construction Toy Grading Standards Now Live AND on Lugnet!

Hey Y'all: I understand that my proposed Construction Toy Grading Standards may become the de facto standard recommended to shop owners at Brickbay. To honor this small, yet auspicious, nod from Dan J. the standards can now be found in two places! A (...)   Re: Small annoyance with seller

If the parts are not as described then the seller should pay all of the shipping. Period. I have recently had to offer such a refund on a sale that I made. It was a mistake in listing a minifig where I accidently clicked on the one below the one I (...)   Re: Small annoyance with seller

Careful... Whilst I appreciate your situation, indeed the seller seems to have been remiss, I might read this as meaning that you HAVE had dealings with an a "non-overseas" i.e. local, "seller who is so irresponsible" ? Your statements are loaded (...) (23 years ago, 31-Oct-01, to lugnet.market.theory, lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, lugnet.market.brickshops, lugnet.market.appraisal)

  Re: Small annoyance with seller

Hmmmm On brickbay you expect a bit more. You take a chance wherever you buy. My rule of thumb is this - if it's a lego buff, then you should know where you stand - if they sell lampshades, shoes or samurai swords then, ... well, they may not know (...) We have a similiar experience recently with a Germany seller from brickbay who not only sent us the wrong sets but also sent us sets with missing parts when he advertised complete set. After waiting for two months while he was on holiday, he first (...)   Re: Small annoyance with seller

I think this is a tricky situation. It basically comes down to his opinion vs. your opinion. I think that if the items were close to the condition he had described then the seller should not have to pay for shipping. If they were clearly not in the (...) The Seller Should refund you the total cost of the transaction and shipping to him. Its his mistake and your the victim in a way..   Small annoyance with seller

Hey Y'all: I had a recent hassle with a seller on Brickbay who sold me a yellow castle minifigure and some other bits that were not in the "Great Condition" described. I found the black visor on the minifigure to have been chewed (ABC) and other (...) (...) A great effort Richard, but I'm still no clearer on the difference between MISB! and MISB!!!!? :) A general point, I think the scoring from 1-100 is a little ambitious.   Need value of RED 12V train motor
