Greetings!
Today, November 12, 2000, a milestone was reached in the short history
(so far) of the Vancouver Lego Club. Today, after a couple months of
painstaking planning (as can be attested by the number of posts
recently), we debuted at the Trains 2000 (Burnaby, BC Canada) event,
with a 16' by 6' layout incorporating
trains, town, monorail and mindstorms. Without going into all the
details (except to say "It rocked!"), it was impressive. Approximately
half a dozen members worked together on the layout, creation, set up and
tear down.
We also came away with an award:
Trains 2000, People's Choice, Best Layout.
Not bad for a club less than one year old and for a first public event.
Many more details and photos coming soon.

| Too much fun, don't you think? Thanks to all you guys for all the work you did, and for making yesterday a rousing success. This first show was a ton of work, but definitely ranks up there as one of my favourite Lego experiences ever. It was so much (...) (24 years ago, 13-Nov-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

| Congratulations! Keep an eye on the Christmas stock of Lego trains in the local TRUs, I noticed tht the ones in Edmonton, seem to have twice as many as last year in stock. Maybe a coincidence, or do our shows increase demand in the product? Michel (...) (24 years ago, 16-Nov-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)
