Congratulations you guys, and I think I saw a glimpse of one of your VLC
t-shirts in the background of one of the pics?

Highlights...

How could I forget! Robin's lighthouse with the working, rotating light! And
the whales.... with the whale watching boat about to tip over.... and the
fishermen, one with an enormous catch and the other with just a tire....

Gods that layout was fun! Though I almost fainted when we were awarded the "Best
of the Show" award. I'll bet there will be grumblings about that for months from
the "Real" Train guys. I guess we showed some of them with our "Not real trains
trains"! (To be fair most of the other displayer's were great... And hung around
our layout for quite awhile. [Just watched the vid, I have proof!]).

We had a great time. Planning was productive and good natured. (Thanks to Matt's
Train Designer!)
Our test layout "Tape on the floor" went well and the track placement was
relatively painless.
Our Test fit Friday night went very well.
And by Saturday's setup at the event was done in 4 hours!
Sundays show was very fun I only caused a "FEW" derailments. ;-)
Sunday tear down and packup was done in 1.5 hours! Way to go guys! Team work!

Special thanks to Kevin and Robins Parents for lending the use of their Vans for
the event.
Also special personal thanks from Dean and Xan to Claus, Robin & Kevin for the
transportation to and from the events to us "Car-less people"

Did I mention that we were approached by several "Show organizers" for various
upcoming events and asked what WE needed to attend their shows! Also we were
asked SEVERAL times by the Trains 2000 organizers if we would for sure be coming
to their 2001 show!

I think we did LEGO proud today and helped aid Lego Trains here on the west
coast of Canada.

(...) Yes, the one with the pentacle is my wife Xandria. I'll try to get snaps of my footage up tonight or this week at the latest. Dean -- Coin-Op's For Sale!: (URL) Lego Workshop: (URL) Lego Club: (URL) (24 years ago, 13-Nov-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)
