Nice meeting you, Laurajean, I'll know now who you are if we do have
a meet/go en masse to NELUG.

I figured that someone mumbling about the 2000 sets to
himself probably wasn't just a parent buying a Christmas present
for their son or nephew. :) Glad I asked, and got to talk with you.

I haven't run into anyone who seemed to be serious about LEGO.  I did
create a LUGNetter out of one of my employees when I was back in
Missouri.  Hey Laurajean, where do you live?  I'm in Plainsboro (next to
Princeton.

Not to far, probably 25-30 minutes south east of you, Chris.
I live in Millstone Township (where-zat?), east of the Turnpike between
exits 7a and 8, or as more people know the landmark, the town immediately
north of 6 Flags, Great Adventure. Of course, this is one of those
towns where just about everything is 25-30 minutes away or more,
including the nearest supermarket. :) The new 133 bypass (between
33 and 130) does make things nicer going in that direction now.

We only moved here 8 months ago from Somerset (Franklin Township) where I
lived for 15 years so I'm a lot more familiar with the New Brunswick
area shopping, and since I still work up there, that's where my haunts are.
I only just discovered the huge shopping center on Rt 1 near Quakerbridge
mall (?) with the big Target and Walmart (and lots of other stuff) last
week, and haven't explored too far south of here yet.

For me, my Lego hobby/habbit is one of several, for which I never
have enough time (or money?), and my "seriousness" goes in waves.
The new house has a craft room (hubby calls in the crap room), which
gets dominated by one hobby for a month or two, to then be put
away (temporarily) and replaced by another. :) (I missed the
last call for a NYC gathering during one of those lulls.)

Unfortunately, this is one of the hobbies I do by myself, hubby
isn't that interested, other than to sometimes "enhance" my
creations with a few items or ideas (this week the new Arctic polar bear
is currently dining on a minifig hand), or to have really terrific
train wrecks. :)
