  Re: MSP Fest?

(...) Time to warn the employees of the Lego Imagination Center :^) Seriously, Welcome to the Twin Cities! In many ways the hunting for sets can be challenging and rewarding. There are 30+ Target stores, 6 Wal-Marts, 7 or so TRU's, numerous K-Marts (...) (25 years ago, 19-Jan-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

  Re: MSP Fest?

Well, what do you know? I may be in MN soon after all. I've got my new assignments, I will be supporting two projects and one of them is in MSP. Watch this space. ++Lar (25 years ago, 19-Jan-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

Re: Upper Midwest Lego Train Club

(...) Not as fancy as PNLTCs, but yes. See my site to see if my skills are good enough. ++Lar (25 years ago, 12-Jan-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

Re: Upper Midwest Lego Train Club

Very good questions, Lar- unfortunately, until I here from John Gerlach, I don't know anything really about their group at all. He said that they were working on a webpage...BTW is anyone here savvy enough to create a web page if we do proceed? (...) (25 years ago, 11-Jan-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

Re: Upper Midwest Lego Train Club

(...) well, sure, free is good. But is this a go or no, given the other group's existence? What is their charter? If they are MPLS only, that shuts a number of us out. I have been on the PNLTC group's case about allowing "remote" members, but no go (...) (25 years ago, 11-Jan-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

Re: Upper Midwest Lego Train Club

Gee Lar- I was going to do the shirts gratis. After a while we can sink in the serious coin for embroidery. As for the logo -here is the Georgia dudes logo: (URL) a little too slick and webby pagey for my taste. I like the PNLTC's logo, but perhaps (...) (25 years ago, 11-Jan-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

Re: Upper Midwest Lego Train Club

I have a bazillion tee shirts. I'd favor spending more and getting a collared shirt with embroidery instead of a screened shirt. On a previous project, we got some for in the 30s ballpark... 4 thread colors on a small offset (over the heart) front (...) (25 years ago, 11-Jan-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

  Re: MSP Fest?

(...) These are some of the most useful bricks out there for direction changes. I must have 500 of them and I am always buying more because I run out. They have two studs and two holes. One stud is on top, one on the side, inset so that it is two (...) (25 years ago, 11-Jan-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp, lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.build)

  UMLTC

Well, Ben Fleskes of PNLTC fame put me in contact with one of the guys who does the lego train layouts at the St.Paul GATS (John Gerlach). He informed me that a group is already going through the process of setting up a website, taking a name (UMLTC (...) (25 years ago, 9-Jan-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

  Re: Train Club

(...) I already talked to John, but I thought I'd post here to say that I am interested in a train club or any sort of LEGO club, for that matter! But I have a special fondness for trains. -michael (25 years ago, 9-Jan-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

  Upper Midwest Lego Train Club

okay, I have contacted a few people who have expressed an interest in forming the UMLTC. None, however, are in close proximity, so I figure we can start off in Cyberspace and go from there. At the very least we can get us a logo and print some (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jan-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

  Re: MSP Fest?

Oh... you have been there- Bandana Square it's called. And you haven't been to the MOA? Then you will probably want to check that out. The LIC will surely disappoint, although having had it in my backyard may have tainted my perspective. My family (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jan-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

  Re: MSP Fest?

(...) Hmmmm, I think you might see my name on their also. (25 years ago, 8-Jan-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: MSP Fest?

(...) I've never been to the MOA, yet. This place was another mall. It was built in an old railroad car repair (or engine maintenance) shop. I can't remember where the mall was, but I think closer to downtown (whether down town StP or Mpls, I can't (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jan-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

  Re: MSP Fest?

this is my first auczilla, so I'm just getting the hang of it. To answer your other question, no, not even close. That place in the MOA went away years ago. The place I'm talking about is near the fairgrounds and makes the mall joint look like a (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jan-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)
