  See you @ Denny's

The next VicLUG Meetup is @ Denny's one week from tomorrow. That's right, meet other grown ups who play with bricks Tuesday October 12th at the Denny's near Mayfair Mall. Hopefully James can be there to talk about what it takes to put together a (...) (20 years ago, 4-Oct-04, to lugnet.org.ca.viclug, lugnet.loc.ca.bc.vic)

  Re: VicLUG Meetup Tuesday

OK, So there wasn't enough advance notice this time. How about we try again for next month same details (except the second Tuesday in October)? BTW, any venue suggestions would be welcome. Denny's has gone a little upscale for just hanging out. (20 years ago, 15-Sep-04, to lugnet.org.ca.viclug, lugnet.loc.ca.bc.vic, FTX)

  VicLUG Meetup Tuesday

OK, here goes. I signed up to be the organizer for the AFOL Meetup in Victoria and renamed it VicLUG. Lets give it a try next Tuesday night (Sept 14) at 8:00 pm at the Denny's across from Mayfair Mall. It is fairly central and has good parking and (...)   The Vancouver LEGO club at Science World in Vancouver, BC

Hello Fellow brick fetishists! There is a very good chance that the Vancouver Lego Club will be exhibiting its talents at Science World ( (URL) ) in the spring of 2005. We are very keen on involving some of the surrounding area groups, if they would (...)   Re: VicLUG Dead or Alive?

(...) It's not holidays for me yet :) (They don't start until September for me). I'm still at sea, I return on Monday. (...) OK- where and when? Thursdays are bad for me, and I am busy on the 9th and 13th. If you have a date in mind, either EMail me (...) (20 years ago, 1-Aug-04, to lugnet.org.ca.viclug, lugnet.loc.ca.bc.vic)

  Re: VicLUG Dead or Alive?

Thanks for replying! :) As you can see by the delay in my response this is a bad time for all concerned with holidays and summer chaos. I spoke to a guy from the train show and he suggested setting up a static info/recruitment booth was probably a (...) (20 years ago, 5-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.viclug, lugnet.loc.ca.bc.vic)

  Re: VicLUG Dead or Alive?

(...) Probably C. However, count me out until at least Aug 3 or 4th. After that, I am once again available. If you want to take over organization, I am more than happy to pass the buck (er torch) to you. If there are events, I will try to make it (...)   VicLUG Dead or Alive?

OK, so I would like to meet up with other AFOL's in Victoria and maybe even set up a display at the Model Railroad Show in September. But before I do I need to know which of the following is true: a) VicLUG is dead and if I want to play with the (...) (20 years ago, 18-Jun-04, to lugnet.org.ca.viclug, lugnet.loc.ca.bc.vic)

  Star Wars @ Winners (Tillicum)

In case anyone actually reads either of these groups. :) I bought a Repblic Gunship @ Winners on Sunday. They still had one left plus the bounty hunter ambush set from Phantom Menace and several technic-style R2's and Darth Vaders.   Winners @ Tillicum Mall

I was @ Winners yesterday and they had several LEGO sets (and a few cheapo brands including a large pirate ship.) I bought the two Jurassic Park III sets or my son for Xmas for less than half list price I think. There was also the Technic-style (...)   NWBrickcon

I was wondering if anyone from the Victoria area was interested in going to NWBrickcon in Seattle in October? I cannot afford to go by myself but I do have a car with space for 3 more adults (4 more adults if 3 are skinny and don't mind squishing a (...)   Re: New AFOL in Victoria

I certainly understand privacy issues as I work in the IT section at the UVic Library. We have to deal with lots of online privacy issues. Perhaps people would be more comfortable meeting at a coffee shop or restaurant. This would allow a more (...) (21 years ago, 21-Aug-03, to lugnet.loc.ca.bc.vic, lugnet.org.ca.viclug)

  Re: New AFOL in Victoria

(...) We do have them, the last one was more than a year ago- generally, it is informal, and kind of by invite, because of the fact that it is almost always held at a VICLUG members home, and some of us are more privacy worried than others. If you (...) (21 years ago, 21-Aug-03, to lugnet.loc.ca.bc.vic, lugnet.org.ca.viclug)

  Re: New AFOL in Victoria

(...) I am trying to post this to both so that anyone else who comes along does not miss out. Perhaps the VicLUG (lugnet.org.ca.viclug) group should be for club "business" and loc.bc.ca.vic for more general stuff? But I am getting waaaay ahead of (...)   Re: New AFOL in Victoria

(...) 'cause that's the way LUGNET does it? I didn't even realize there was a .org.ca.viclug group, otherwise I would have xposted it there too... (...)   Re: New AFOL in Victoria

(...) a) Welcome to Lugnet! b) The duplication seems this way for every group, I believe because when Lugnet was first started, a group was made for every geographic location (ie, every city) Then LUGs starting asking for newsgroups--and since it's (...)   New AFOL in Victoria

Hi! I guess I should have looked more. I posted a message to: lugnet.org.ca.viclug which has seen no traffic but mine for months. I wish I had known about the Shirley Display last week as I might have been able to go. So can anyone tell me why there (...) (21 years ago, 19-Aug-03, to lugnet.loc.ca.bc.vic)

  Shirley Day Lego Display

Tomorrow, Saturday, I will have a 30' x 30-120" display at Shirley Community Hall. This includes the premier display of "Bricstol Temple Meads", my ~5000 piece station that covers 30x60" for the station building. DCC will be used for train control, (...)   Train Operating Weekend invitation (Vancouver, BC Canada)
