Thanks for replying! :)  As you can see by the delay in my response this is a
bad time for all concerned with holidays and summer chaos.

It's not holidays for me yet :)  (They don't start until September for me).  I'm
still at sea, I return on Monday.

I spoke to a guy from the train show and he suggested setting up a static
info/recruitment booth was probably a more realistic goal for this year given
the short timeline. I think that might be possible and will try to set up a
meeting in the second week of August to see if I can drum up any interest.

OK- where and when?  Thursdays are bad for me, and I am busy on the 9th and
13th.  If you have a date in mind, either EMail me or post it here.

I will be sending an email note to a couple of people I know and if you could
send it to the list of old members (or trust me with the email addresses) then
we can start from there.

I don't have a list of Email addys, just some phone #'s that I can contact
people at.  My old puter died earlier in the year, taking with it what lists I
had.

Is there any time/place good for you (ie: Saturday mornings, John's Other Place in View Royal)?

That'd work for me.  I prefer not too early morning, because I have 40 min of
driving to get into town.  It might be better if we could arrange somewere more
downtownish, but I don't know where we could get some space, except if one of
the other VICLUG people wants to host (Steve, perhaps, if he is reading).  My
place is WAY too far out for a meeting, but is open at any time for visitors
(when I am home, anyway).

As far as stuff goes, the limit for me is going to be how much stuff I can
transport back home after the train show.  I have a 5x5ft layout already to take
to the show, plus my truck may be needed by one of the other clubs I belong to
to move our club layout.  I don't think it would be hard for us to make up a
display layout up to probably 15x3ft or so, drawing on what I have done in the
past.  However, that would depend on the space being available, and other people
being available to operate it.  I can supply all the train stuff we could
possibly want without any difficulty,  Depending on transport, I can supply
PNLTC type tables, 195x24" of finished display ready railway, and enough track
to cover the remainder of my tabling.  The problem would be manning the display,
because I know I am not available due to my other 3 commitments that coincide at
the show.  (I have a Thomas the Tank Engine layout that is mine, a OO scale
layout (The Gangers), and are a member of VIME with 2 live steam engines...)
