Hobby Show, in Toronto.

I just got home from two fun days at the Hobby Show in Toronto. The Can-Brick
builders (Lego builders from Ontario including many members of rtlToronto and
ParLUGment, put on a great display with some really outstanding MOCs.  The
display covers themes from classic space, maxi-fig, sculpture, mosaic, technic,
mecha, space to town & train.  If you live near the area, or don't mind taking a
bit of a drive, you still have one day left to catch the show.  There are many
other hobbies displayed as well, and lots of great displays and interesting
things and demonstrations to see.

Thank you to Allan for spearheading this project, and for Dave for organising
this years event. Outstanding work Dave, it is truly appreciated!

On a personal note....

Sadly I have no great tale of a self-destructing MOC, (well not mine own anyway,
and I will deny all stories of me breaking another persons MOC.)

Top 10 Things I have learned this weekend......

10. Just because you are an engineer does not mean you can do simple math.
9. Some builders build, while others specialise in telling others what to build.
8. Cows look cute when their heads are on backwards.
7. Apparently the phrase "TMI" is a new concept to some people.
6. Cotton candy smells extra specially wonderful while sorting through bonus
boxes.
5. Eventually the goddess of justice will bring me high speed.
4. If you want your lap top to run, turning it on helps, A LOT.
3. Duplo Trains can be extremely complex.
2. Arson is never the answer, but it is an option.  Just don't sign the card!!!
And lastly.......
1. Apparently....... Girls change the dynamics of a boys only club.

Janey "Red Brick"

Thanks guys, I had a great time.

(...) Janey, I heard very good things about the display this year. And have seen your pictures as well on Brickshelf. It sounds like the 2nd annual appearance of the Can-Brick Builders was a success. I'm sorry I didn't make it to the show however. I (...) (20 years ago, 8-Nov-04, to lugnet.loc.ca)
