(...) Sorry if I wasn't clear. 1998 _was_ the 35th anniversary of LEGO being sold in Canada (originally by Samsonite). LEGO Canada (sniff, I miss S@H Canada) took over from Samsonite around 1988/89 (I have a 1988 Samsonite catalogue, and a 1989 LEGO (...) (22 years ago, 1-Mar-03, to lugnet.loc.ca)

(...) I think you are missing something big here. We didn't have 35th anniversary buckets in Canada because it was the 35th anniversary of LEGO being sold in Canada, we had repackaged (different outer bucket, no silver 2 x 4 brick) buckets from the (...) (22 years ago, 1-Mar-03, to lugnet.loc.ca)

Since 1998 brought us the 35th anniversary buckets and tubs here in Canada I was thinking that 2003 must then be the 40th anniversary of LEGO in Canada. However, I suspect that since we haven't (...) Hi from Kitchener, Stopped in at our local Walmart and stumbled across 1382 Scary Labratory for $35 Cdn in a makeshift clearance aisle...I picked up two. Soccer Challenge II 3420 was also on for $35 Cdn. I couldn't justify that one for parts. Anyone (...) (22 years ago, 8-Feb-03, to lugnet.loc.ca)

Hi, There is a good selection of StarWars sets here at the Kitchener TRU. I went for the sale and came back empty handed ... I just couldn't justify buying anything at these prices. They had the Tantive for $300, I think the Tie Interceptor was $150 (...) (22 years ago, 8-Feb-03, to lugnet.loc.ca)

I just went to my local TRU and it looks like they might have pulled all 2003 SW sets off of the shelves, they weren't there and they're spaces were convienently filled older sets, mostly 740x. :-( The good news is they have a bunch of older sets so (...) (22 years ago, 8-Feb-03, to lugnet.loc.ca)

I've seen these knock-off sets at various times in Ontario. They turned up a couple of years ago at Home hardware, but disappeared almost as quickly as they appeared.
