Today was the ninth Sydney get-together on a very nice Autumn day.

As host James was running late and was surprised by Richie Dulin arriving
early. Whlist James went to fetch more tables, Richie begun unloading. He
brought the Speculative Endevour (a big ship), a loverly blue submarine
(with periscope, waterline and complete hull versions) which was fully
detailed. A large seaplane with bubble canopies on the sides and the
Brick-Morepork military forces with fantastic (as in inspired by fantasy,
but nonetheless superb) secenery. Large toadstools, a spikey fort and a
shoe-house made for interesting obstacles in the battle.

James had his smaller forces of Robin Hoodlum (alias Capt. Quirk) and his
merry men (and woman of course!) as well as the return of the Dracos Templar
under the joint leadership of the Chrome Warmaster and Honeybee: agent of
She who must be obeyed. He also brought the Dropship "Sword of Alexander"
which lived up to it's name, being dropped halfway through the day and hence
retiring from service. Sorry, no photos. Scaring attendees and passers by
alike, his Bionimals, made from two copies of each bionicle where a grand
hit. Most people took a liking to the savagely clawed Onua-cat, but
Gali-crab was also admired. Pohatu-dog, Kopaka-bug, Tahu-moose and Lewa-bat
completed the set. On the topic of Bionicles, James and Pete (who arrived
whilst Richie and Anthony were at lunch) traded some masks, leaving James
needing but 7 more to complete the set(1).

Pete had enticed some Ebay buyers along (big Hi to Kay and Geoff!!!) who
looked suitably bemused at other who were patently more crazy than they. To
add to the confusion, a game of Legobrick wars broke out, with Pete leading
the merry men (and woman) caught between James and Richie, who were both
keen to cause carnage and capture Quirk. Although much destruction was
caused, aided by 4 slug throwers, two boulder-pults, a chain cannon, a
gattling cannon, a Troll (with seige crossbow) a treemonster, a snakeman and
a Lantern Amplified by Special Elementary Refraction (I've got the name
wrong sorry. Ask richie what is was...). Unfortunatly there was only one
Quirk to go around and eventually Honeybee:Agent of She who MUST be obeyed,
told Quirk it was time to stop being noisy and causing a mess and time to
come home. Indeed it was, being dinnertime. So cars were packed, the net
checked and all bidden farewell.

There will be more said about the Legowars I'm sure.

On the (pseudo)orgainsational front, the next meeting will feature Town/City
Legobrickwars (bring your police, your firemen, your irate postal
workers...) and will be held on or around October the 7th (put it in your
diaires). The location is yet to be determined, anyone with a bright idea,
please speak up.

Finally, a big thanks to all those that made it and a big hi to those who
wanted to but couldn't.

James (who's almost out of words)
