Re: Target Toy Sale Catalogue is out now (some things really amuse me)

(...) Due to my fondness for minority colours, I'll no doubt acquire some blurple some time (I was just jumping on the Blandwagon for a couple of stops). Bit of a pain to have to purchase a HC2 for every MKB though. Is Target's extra profit an (...) (20 years ago, 21-Jul-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Target Toy Sale Catalogue is out now (some things really amuse me)

(...) They are advertising a hell of a lot for not a hell of a lot, aren't they? I suppose they think they'll fool the masses with lots of bright light and noise, but from the conversations I've had so far I don't think it's working very well! (...) (20 years ago, 21-Jul-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Target Toy Sale Catalogue is out now (some things really amuse me)

(...) Do Big Dubya even have an advertising campaign, if they do it shows the impact it has on me, though I only watch satellite TV (which does have Target ads). I wonder how many normal toy shoppers do the price-checking Lugnet ALFs do. Maybe they (...) (20 years ago, 21-Jul-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Target Toy Sale Catalogue is out now (some things really amuse me)

(...) I don't watch much TV at all, and I only ever buy the weekend newspapers. Catalogues in my letterbox seem to be rather a hit and miss affair at the moment (not delivered in a timely manner if at all). From this rather limited perspective I can (...)   Re: Target Toy Sale is on (and they folded)

(...) Went to the opening day to grab a spiderman origins during lunch. Had a look and low and behold, HC2 is now down to $114. Looks like someone informed target that BigW was still on sale. This is for the Melbourne City store, so I don't know (...) (20 years ago, 22-Jul-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Target Toy Sale is on (and they folded)

(...) 20 mins? that's nothing! When I went during lunch to a local Big W store on toy sale opening week, I almost fainted when I saw this HUGE line of trolleys... 76 to be exact! one lady who was around the 30th trolley in line said she had been (...) (20 years ago, 22-Jul-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Target Toy Sale is on (and they folded)

(...) My wife any myself braved one of these opening sales last year at a local K-mart. Arriving 30 minutes before the store even opened and had to queue at the door to get in. The astute shoppers had already collected empty trolleys (some with (...) (20 years ago, 23-Jul-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Target Toy Sale is on (and they folded)

(...) Dunno about Brisbane, but my local K-mart (Chadstone VIC) didn't have them the first day - I went back a couple of days later and they had some. ROSCO (20 years ago, 24-Jul-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

(...) Any stores in the welfare belt have huge queues for these sales. The mums are well-prepared for this campaign. (...) Empty trolleys are the key, an offensive weapon in the right hands. (...) Recruit your own crutchees and impede competition. (...) (20 years ago, 24-Jul-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Target Toy Sale is on (and they folded)

(...) I was told that NO store in Australia had them before the sale - but most stores were claiming sold-out (as to not have to give rainchecks) Northland (which told me this) was giving rainchecks (they have to if its not in stock before the sale (...) (20 years ago, 24-Jul-04, to lugnet.loc.au)
