You could consider upgrading your personal accounting/budgeting system to
categorise travel seperately to LEGO ;-)
There are many other reasons to visit the eastern states - perhaps you could
combine a fest with one or more of them?
Another option may be to locate a stockpile of inexpensive rare LEGO in WA,
(there's an Insectoids set, and a whole lot of Indian Chiefs in Bunbury that
I know of, but neither probably quite fits the bill), and bring it with you
to sell to easterners at a profit...
