  Re: My average set

(...) Yes! But wait, there's more: My modal set is: [LEGOSet 6706] And the standard deviation is: [LEGOSet 2284] (I'm looking forward to revising all this stuff post Christmas!). Cheers Richie Dulin (20 years ago, 20-Dec-04, to lugnet.loc.au, FTX)

Re: source for 1 x 12 technic beams in red?

(...) I'd rather buy the set! After all, all the pieces go into the collection, it is cheaper on a cpp measure. (And I get lots more inspirational pieces besides). (...) Indeed. And used most excellent packaging besides. Cheers Richie Dulin (20 years ago, 20-Dec-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Christmas Shopping

(...) Richie, surprising you moved near the epicentre of expenso-LEGO :^o (...) Let's hope these aren't on sale in Adelaide. (...) A good if expensive source of those swordy things. Far under RRP...is that surprising. (...) TRUe, about the only (...) (20 years ago, 20-Dec-04, to lugnet.loc.au, FTX)

  Re: My average set

(...) I'm glad you asked ;-) This set was the closest match to number of parts, number of minifigs and price. These are the most important stats I keep (though I do keep a fair bit more besides). My favourite calculate stat is cpp (cents per piece). (...) (20 years ago, 20-Dec-04, to lugnet.loc.au, FTX)

Re: source for 1 x 12 technic beams in red?

(...) How can buying a set off the shelf be cheaper than a small number of parts off Bricklick ? I know BL is sometimes pricey, but you could mail 1 x N beams in an envelope connected together and wrapped in tape for $1.50-$2 ish pete.w (who used to (...) Yep, dedicated people would help :^) Not that we aren't dedicated, just disorganised or just so laidback that we are unable to find a recliner on the market that satisfies our needs. pete.w (who has even more phantom strips now to send to Sue (...)   Re: My average set

(...) Doesn't have anything to do with the average number of blue pieces in sets ? pete.w (not a color drone, a statistical drone) (20 years ago, 20-Dec-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: My average set

Come on Richie, you have to give us more information than that. What is the metric you use to calculate the average? Set number? Pieces? Age of set? For the set re-releases, do you use the old set number, or the new set number? Also, what is your (...) (20 years ago, 20-Dec-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Christmas Shopping

What fun Christmas shopping is! My local shopping centre (St Ives), which is not normally known for either its discount pricing or its availability of Lego has a temporary Santa Store, which has some discount Lego....   My average set

Long time readers of .loc.au (and perhaps a few others) may recall my love of statistics, and my dislike of the use of averages as a reasonable measure of a population. I have therefore calculated the average set in my collection (though, of course, (...) (20 years ago, 20-Dec-04, to lugnet.loc.au, FTX)

HO HO HO HOT Pooh SALE

25% OFF Pooh, Sesame Street, Fisher-Price, Doodle Pro and LEGO. So after recent 20% selective LEGO and 20% off all LEGO, they mustn't have sold enough, so it's 25% off now. Where ? ......o...Kxxxx...can you guess...? Now 'til Xmas eve. pete.w (is (...) (20 years ago, 20-Dec-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: source for 1 x 12 technic beams in red?

Basicly, I only need a small number of these beams in red. The local parts sellers I usually go to do not have any 1 x 12 beams in red in stock. If I can obtain them by buying a set that is on the shelf (or by buying something second hand locally (...) (20 years ago, 20-Dec-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

(...) that (...) you (...) show (...) Well, having bought one when they were first released at S@H, I have to say that I was somewhat disappointed with the set. If you want to read my review written at the time, see (URL) (20 years ago, 18-Dec-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: loc.au stats (was - all quiet on the loc.au front)

(...) In theory, I will place one bid to see this in chart or graph form, pictures are so much more easier to follow. Of course that would lead to much sorting, and not such a fan of sorting, so I doubt I could win you over in less time then it (...) (20 years ago, 16-Dec-04, to lugnet.loc.au, FTX)
